19 April, 2012
Not a good week, not even the weekend revived things.
3G7C (Chiloe Is. DXpedition), VP2MYZ (Montserrat) and 9M0L (Spratly Is) were active most of the week. There was other DX in there but it seemed difficult going.
3G87IARU was genuine from Chile as was 6H6IARU from Mexico, CR6IARU from Portugal, P487IARU from Aruba all celebrating 87th Anniversary of IARU.

Sun: More sunspot activity this week. Sunspot 1460 is growing rapidly and could soon pose a threat for M-class solar flares.
Magnetic fields on the sun's northeastern limb erupted around 17:45 UT on April 16th, producing one of the most visually-spectacular explosions in years. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) recorded the blast at extreme ultraviolet wavelengths: Spectacular
Earth is approaching the debris field of ancient Comet Thatcher, source of the annual Lyrid meteor shower. Forecasters expect the shower to peak on April 21-22; a nearly-new moon on those dates will provide perfect dark-sky conditions for meteor watching. Usually the shower is mild (10-20 meteors per hour) but unmapped filaments of dust in the comet's tail sometimes trigger outbursts 10 times stronger. (spaceweather.com)

No match for Stoke last weekend, this Saturday we play Newcastle away. We will need to fight for points all the way.
