TONY'S 10 METRE BAND REPORT - 03/05/2012

3 May, 2012
Again the weekend was good and the midweek was poor. The DX was lively though.

YJ0VK (Vanuatu) was very popular all week with Z21BB (Zimbabwe), TO3X (Saint Barthelémy), YF1AR (Java Island) and TJ3AY (Yaoundé Cameroon) all prominent.

Me I worked nothing. Didn’t hear much either.

Here is a chart showing the reported contact rates for January to the end of April.

Sun: 5 sunspots with new one 1472 just appeared. Solar activity is low, with only a smattering of minor C-class flares coming from a few 'active regions' scattered across the solar disk.
Venus is at its brightest. Today, the second planet from the sun is shining 190 times brighter than a 1st magnitude star, bright enough to see in broad daylight if your eye lands right on it. (Spaceweather.com)

We (Stoke City) got a well earned point from our home match against Arsenal.
I have a ticket for the away match against QPR next Sunday. QPR will fight for survival. But it’s about time we beat them.
