TONY'S 10 METRE BAND REPORT- 29/06/2012

01:24 Fernando Luiz de Souza 0 Comments

A rubbish week, with the weekend, as usual, a little better but not much.
TA2TR (Turkey) did some good spotting and a couple of ED (Spain) stations came out top at the weekend. But it was a really disappointing week.
Nikola , LZ1NA heard SV3AQR/B, Amalias, 569 on Tuesday on CW. Tuesday was poor Nikola, you were lucky to hear anything.
9W2EDU, Mal worked 9W2TS 3/8, 9W2GEO 3/7 & EA1GAR 4/7 and also heard: 9M2KRZ 5/9 , 9W2VAR 5/9. He says, “EA1GAR My first contact to Spain”. Well keep trying Mal there are plenty more about.
9W2VVH, Arie is becoming quite a regular contributor here. This week he’s been in the 9M2 Ten Metre day. He says,
“The 9M2 Land 10M CQ Day was successfully done on June 23, 2012 from 09:00UTC to 17:00UTC. The purpose of the event is to foster DXing activities in 9M2 Land.

18 stns from different areas in West Malaysia participating & CQing for the event – They are : 9M2ESM (49 QSOs SSB), 9W2VVH (42), 9W2VAR (39), 9W2EJT (23), 9M2ZAK (22 cw), 9M2GET (22 cw), 9M4LHC (18), 9W2TS (9), 9W2MZY (7), 9W2GEO (7), 9W2ZHL (6), 9M2KRZ (5), 9W2SBD (4), 9W2SGN (3), 9W2AZE (3), 9W2EDU (3), 9W2SBL (1) and 9W2AHU (1). Overall they managed to make total 264 QSOs from 33 DXCC - 4S7, 4X, 9H, 9M2, A6, BY, CT, DU, DL, EA, EA6, EA8, F, HA, HB, HL, I, JA, K, LZ, OE, OM, PA, S5, SV, SV9, TK, UA, UK, UR, VU, YB & YO.
TOP 3 DXCC: 1. Italy (59), 2. Ukrain (36), 3. Spain (25)
The list of DX stn who made at least 3 QSOs to local stn:
8 stns - UR6IDX & UT4IO
5 stns – SV9AHZ, YB0AKM & IK5PWQ
3 stns – I1JHS, IK8MDK, EA7AAF, CU3EJ, UT7AE, IZ0HQS, I5QNJ, SV2YC, A65CR, RZ6BS, BG8GAM & HA7TM.
By the way, here is my personal QSOs list during the event: WKD 42 STNS, DXCC=17
JA0PE, JN7XWF, BG8EHZ, SV9AHZ, 4S7NW, IK5PWQ, IZ0HQS, EA1AR, IK5PVX, LZ1515PSB, IZ5BRP, YO7ILV, IZ5LDD, EA1AOM, IK8INR, UT4IO, EA3HND, CU3EJ, IZ1UKF, 9H1SV, UR6IDX, I1JHS, IZ7SLU, YO8NR, S52NR, EA6AZ, IT9YRE, IZ0LKV, A65CR, EA5FLE,EA1EYH, EA5CIF, F8ARK, EA1YB, EA1BLI, RA6FG, IW0BLG, 9H1NB, EA2ATL, UR7EN, YO9FTN & PD1CMP.” Then he asks that I correct his grammar, no need. I wish my capability in a foreign language was as good as yours Arie. Brilliant but I also wish I’d know about the event before hand so I could have given it some publicity. Next time let me know in advance.
And from our Australasian correspondent Dave, VK5MRD, we have, Tadah, just 1 again! DW7DRZ. “Must try harder” is the school report.

Sun: Just two clumps of sun spots with 1512 looking a likely source for flares.
Not much happening on the sport front. England lost a penalty shoot out, yet again!!
But in the cricket the Windies got blown away. (very much an “in” joke. The Aussies have arrived so we will see how good our cricket team really is (or isn’t)
