TONY'S 10 METRE REPORT - 21/06/2012

A really poor early part of the week, just look at Wednesday! It did pick up at the weekend with the Asian contest but even then numbers were low, for a CW contest.
Just how did DL0IGI/B, a beacon presumably, make top spot on Sunday? I thought they were just out-going, not transceive.
9W2SBD, Sallehan, is a new one on-board.
He worked HZ1TT and put it on YouTube

A really poor early part of the week, just look at Wednesday! It did pick up at the weekend with the Asian contest but even then numbers were low, for a CW contest.
Just how did DL0IGI/B, a beacon presumably, make top spot on Sunday? I thought they were just out-going, not transceive.
9W2SBD, Sallehan, is a new one on-board.
He worked HZ1TT and put it on YouTube

9W2SGN, Shahrul
, worked BG8GYR 5/5. Good going gentlemen keep sending in the reports
Big Dave, VK5MRD, explains about the “power outage” referred to last week. It was what I thought it was.
“I made the DX contacts earlier in the day when I had power, then later when I wanted to send you my log I couldn`t as we had a power black out so I could not use the PC. I had to use my mobile phone and I could not access my log from my mobile. I was very happy to have worked Gilbert ON4GI as it was only just 3pm here and relatively early for that part of EU on 10m.”

Let’s hope for good conditions both weather and radio wise for the Field Day contest. Rain and wind are bad news when you’re trying to put up (or take down) antennas. And don’t even think about lightening.

China's space program took another leap forward this week when Chinese astronauts onboard the Shenzhou 9 spacecraft successfully docked with the Tiangong 1 space station. Not long after the docking, which occured on Monday, June 18th, the joined spacecraft passed directly in front of the sun over Xinzhou, China. (Spaceweather.com)

The Windies (West Indies) lost the 1 st and 2 nd ODIs (One Day International) so England win the series though there is one more match to go.

Stoke City kick off the new season away at Reading then at home to Arsenal. It’s a tough start for us, we have to play Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United and Man City all in the first few weeks.
