26/10/2012: The Federation of Radio Sports of Azerbaijan and "Safari" DX-activators Club are organizing an expedition to Karabakh area, along the battle line, at the period 25-28 October 2012. The DX-pedition will operate as 4K3K and 4J0K using, most probably, two shacks. Please, take into account that the mentioned callsigns are the only legal signals assigned for Karabakh area, issued by the Ministry of Communications of Azerbaijan. 27/10/2012: Members of the Worked All Britain Awards Group and the British Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society (BARLS) will be operating GB0RME from Great Ormes Head lighthouse, 5km northwest of Llandudno, Wales, on 27 October 2012. Activity will be mostly on 40m and 80m. The WAB square is SH78 and the Lighthouse reference is (BARLS A5134X, ARLHS WAL-008, WLOTA 0453). 02/11/2012: Ruben LU3XEM, Luis LU3XEI, Edgar LU5VAT and Carlos LU7DSY plan on activating Pinguino [Penguin] Island (SA-087), Deseado Department, Santa Cruz province (Southern Patagonia), Argentina, between 2-4 November 2012. This particular island was on air for the first time 12 years ago - with no activity since. The team will use the special callsign LT0X and expect to be active on 80, 40, 20, 15, 12 and 10 metre, possibly 6 metre, SSB, CW and PSK31. The intent is to have three stations active simultaneously. They will have 3 generator sets and the camp is near to the sea - about 150 metres from the lighthouse (ARLHS ARG-010, TWLHD WLH LU-006, WLOTA 1459, Admiralty G1152, WW Loc. FE72DC). 09/11/2012: Max, ON5UR, reports that after more than six months of work and hunderds of international phone calls, he and Marc ON8AK finally found a base location for a DX trip to Monaco. From 9-17 November 2012 look for 3A/ON5UR and 3A/ON8AK running SSB only. So far they have permission for one base station, but hope to find a solution to get two stations on the air. 10/11/2012: Eric, F6ICX, will once again be active as 5R8IC between 10 November until 9 December 2012 from Nosy Boraha [aka Ile Sainte-Marie] (AF-090, WLOTA 0491). 22/11/2012: Emil, IZ1GAR, will once again be active as IH9R from the island of Pantelleria (AF-018, IIA TP-001, MIA MI-124, WLOTA 0041) from 22-25 November 2012. This will include a Single-Op/Single-Band (40m)/High-Power entry in the CQWW CW Contest (24-25 November) from African Italy, CQ zone 33. QSL via IZ1GAR, direct only. [NG3K]

01/12/2012: Robert, AK4BM, will once again be active from Green Turtle Cay (NA-080), Bahamas, as C6AGT between 1st December 2012 and the end of January 2013. A 10 metre beacon will be active during the day and C6AGT will be operating SSB and possibly Digital modes (PSK31 and JT65) during the evenings on various bands from 40m though 10m as conditions permit. Robert may also operate from unihabited islands around Green Turtle Cay using a low power transmitter (Yaesu 817nd) and wire antennas. Likely this will be on the 20m band. 28/10/2012: The Southern California based PAPA Repeater System will be holding a ham radio special event! Under the callsign K6H, 'Ham Radio Celebrates Hollywood' will be held on Sunday, October 28th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (1600z - 2000z) and emanate from the Stage 9 of the CBS Studio Center facility in Studio City, California. Historic Stage 9 is the home of ABC TV's Last Man Standing, starring Tim Allen. Seinfeld, Spin City, According To Jim, Cane, The Cleaner and The Defenders are among the shows that have been shot on the stage. Several of the show's licensed operators will be on hand to host the PAPA members and a number of paths will be available to contact the stage including HF, VHF, UHF, DSTAR, Echolink and IRLP.
