ALASKA Hi Wolfy, your KNLS schedule below is wrong, I don't think they
are using 7355 for English.

B12 English observed as follows:
1000-1100 and 1200-1300 on 9615
1500-1600 on 9655

I haven't confirmed other languages, but the KNLS web site is probably
correct see:
<http://www.knls.org/broadcasting-front.html>

The HFCC registrations don't match up to reality for KNLS ! 73s Dave
(Dave Kenny-UK, BrDXC-UK Nov 18)

ALASKA 6190 KNLS, Anchor Point, at 1700 UT on Nov 15, IS, unmistakable
but only just about audible and soon lost. Russian scheduled here to 1800
UT badly mixing with co-channel BBC & Xinjiang PBS. Cannot remember ever
hearing them as low as 6 MHz.
(Martien Groot-HOL, dxld Nov 15)

KNLS Anchor Point. B-12 Broadcast Schedule - started Oct 28, 2012

KNLS schedule of their website Nov 18, 2013,
reduced to only 10 hours daily via a single transmitter.
BUT NOTHING HEARD AT ALL on Nov 18th afternoon here in Europe.

Now joined Perseus network at Vancouver Island British Columbia and heard
single KNLS tx unit on 6190 kHz in Russian service at S=9+20dB level
around 1635 UT Nov 18. LOUD AND CLEAR. (wb)

updated acc Dave's advice, Nov 18)

Turned on the rx at 1530 UT Nov 18, and noticed that conditions were quite
good this {Canadian} morning.

9655 KNLS Excellent reception with hymn in English. Very weak co-channel
also present (Radio Romania International in Arabic listed). Re-checked a
few minutes later. "New music from your new life station, KNLS". Romania
stronger now and easily audible. At 1607 UT, nothing but a very strong
Romania in Romanian. No sign of KNLS in Russian, so must be their still to
be repaired 2nd transmitter listed on this frequency.

BOLIVIA 6105.52 Radio Panamericana, La Paz, indeed the one heard here
2344-0111* UT on Nov 18 (shutdown date). Very poor signal at first but
faded in to a decent level 0000 and just about peaked around 0025 UT and
maintained moderate signal thru to the s/off. Best in ECSS with notch, but
never a great signal. Broadcast of futbol game featuring famous Bolivian
team, "Club Bolivar" (El Mejor Club de Bolivia).

Mentions during xmsn of "cadena Boliviana" at 2345 and possible
"Rrrrrradio Panamericana" at 0002 UT (was not certain at that point, tho).
Was much later able to finally determine that the webstream was a couple
minutes behind the 49 mb signal, from a replay of a "gooooooooal!" and
also a specific ad (for Banco Los Andes) at 0110 UT, just before the
shortwave abruptly closed down. Mentions of "Panamericana Deportivo". Some
initial confusion due to webstream having different studio ancr
interjecting comments, from time to time, which were not on the shortwave
xmsn.

Fqy briefly wobbled on down from 6105.52 to 6105.49 kHz at 0109 UT and
then back up to .52 a minute later. At 0102 OM said, " ... de La Paz,
Bolivia ..." and 0109, mentions "...la voz de la capital". Very happy to
confirm that these guys are still on the air (or back), but what a crappy
signal, compared to the way they used to bomb in on 6035 kHz, back in the
day ... Perhaps their engineers can tweak the xmtr a bit.

UNID / BOLIVIA 6105, unid Andes station, very probably Radio
Panamericana, La Paz, recently reported here by a S American DXer. Noted
Nov 16 at 1040 UT tune-in with unmistakable Andes folklorica program
underway. Echo anmts in between several songs by bassy OM, very slick "big
city" pro sound to anmts. Several folkloric selections heard and thought
mention at 1041 UT of "Bolivia" but not 100% sure. Rather bad het, tuff to
effectively notch, from Asian on same channel and only fair signal at
best. This first day, found signal too late since, by 1041 UT, already
getting to end of La Paz propagation window into the Central US. Could
only hold signal till about 1052 UT, when co-channel Asian station had
faded-in enough to overpower my target stn.

After this first morning's reception (on a Friday), tried again the next
morning, but only the Asian station there. According to R Panamericana's
website schedule, they do sign on at *1000 on weekdays but *1100 on
weekends, so this fits ... and next chance for me is Monday morning. No
luck yet in local evenings, when they stay on to 0300* on local weekdays
(and to 0100* on local Sat and Sun nites in La Paz). Hope this indeed is
Panamericana, as would be very nice to have this great old La Paz station
still on the air. First logged and QSLed these guys on 6035 kHz back in
the late 1970s.

CANADA Reply from BIBLE VOICE.
This item below would be of interest to many given the confusion
surrounding these broadcasts. I guess Voice of the Wilderness will also
come under this heading. An independent organisation merely purchasing
broadcast time from Bible Voice therefore a different identity, therefore
qualifying as separate loggings/verifications due to different idents. as
per rule 14 of the League verification rules on page 17.

I had asked if Eternal Good News was part of Bible Voice Broadcasting so
this clears all that up.
Sent Nov 13, re: your reception report.

Ian, thanks for listening to Eternal Good News and reporting on the
reception. I will send you a confirmation letter by post. Bible Voice
Broadcasting is part of the High Adventure Gospel Communications
Ministries, the work of a religious group in Canada. Their website,
<www.hagcm.org> lists Bible Voice Broadcasting as one of their ministries.

Bible Voice also has a website, <www.biblevoice.org>

Eternal Good News is a work of Wilshire church of Christ, which is located
in Oklahoma City. We merely purchase broadcast time from Bible Voice, and
we are not part of that organization. Bible Voice Broadcasting does not
own the transmitter facilities, but contracts with companies that own the
transmitters. Bible Voice only recently started broadcasting from Sri
Lanka after a transmitter they were using in Kazakhstan was shut down.
Sincerely, George Bryan

Mayabeque (and not to be confused with the still-existing Ciudad de la
Habana province).

The old Cartographia Kft. (Budapest) map is still the best, despite being
dated, followed by the insightguides.com wonderful waterproof map, but
that one is still (online) selling a 2010 copy with no visual to confirm
update accuracy, nor do they have any desire to respond to my email
inquiry about said after over a week. So in the interim, I offer up the
following, directly via a Cuba site I found:

Roll over any province and click for a breakout of the internal
Municipios. I've got this linked on my FLPRS page at the page bottom, with
all the other resources. Worthy, that is until Arnie Coro Antich delegates
killing the link once he reads I found it.

GERMANY [from CROATIA] 7375 Nov 23 at 0025 UT, checking Voice of
Croatia via Nauen, Germany, where two transmitters have been producing a
beat circa 20 Hz apart, very annoying: apparently fixed, but now there is
irregular propagational flutter, unlike more southerly paths from 7465 kHz
Albania and 7475 kHz Greece, e.g. Modulation sounds slightly "hollow",
i.e. not precisely synchronized, but adequate.

I had notified Walter Brodowsky of MBR about the non-synchronization
problem:

"Hi Walter, We have been bothered by the fact that the two Nauen
transmitters carrying Croatia on 7375 are not zero-beat in frequency,
between 0000 and 0400 UT. In fact, I estimate they are some 20 Hz apart,
altho I cannot measure it exactly. This rapid flutter really impedes
listenability. Believe me, altho one is aimed at South America, there is
plenty of signal from it reaching us in North America to cause this
problem. Could you look into having them match the frequencies precisely?
Best wishes, Glenn Hauser, Oklahoma-USA, WoR"

And he replied Nov 21:
"HI Glenn, many thanks for your observation and letting us know about it.
I forwarded your very valuable information towards SW Radio Station Nauen
so that the Technical Staff there can look into this issue and I hope the
problem will be solved very soon. All the best to you and hope to hear
again from you in the future.

Best regards Walter Brodowsky Head of Short-Wave Senior Expert Sales
Short-wave"

Followed by another reply Nov 22:
"Good Morning Gentlemen, Many thanks for all your efforts in this matter.
The problem should be solved now: There was a technical failure at Nauen
which avoided the synchronization between the different frequency control
units of the two transmitters which were broadcasting simultaneously on
7375 kHz. As long as each transmitter is broadcasting as a "stand alone"
solution and not in simulcast mode with another transmitter such an error
is very difficult for being remarked. Therefore, I would like to express
our thankfulness for letting us know about the very specific problem which
helped us a lot to find this technical problem and solve it. Please let us
know in the future if there would be trouble again.

Best regards
Walter Brodowsky Head of Short-Wave Senior Expert Sales Short-wave"

LIBYA Libya Changes Time Zone.
From Time and Date webpages at
<http://www.timeanddate.com/news/time/libya-time-zone-change-2012.html>

Libya Changes Time Zone
Published 10-Nov-2012
Libya changed back clocks on November 10, 2012 and will observe DST from
2013 onwards.

The Libyan Transitional Government has announced that Libya will start
observing Daylight Saving Time (DST) from 2013. This was annouced in
resolution number 440 in 2012.

Changing Back the Clocks to Another Time Zone

On November 10, 2012, the clocks in Libya were to be turned back one
hour from 02:00 (2am) to 01:00 (1am). This changes Libya's time zone
from UTC+2 (Eastern European Time) to UTC+1 (Central European Time).

During winter the time in Libya will be like those neighbour countries
west and south of it, such as Tunisia, Algeria, Niger and Chad.

New Daylight Saving Schedule

Starting in 2013, Libya will turn clocks forward to DST at 01:00 (1am)
on the last Friday of March, and back again to standard time at 02:00
(2am) on the last Friday of October.

This schedule is close to most of Europe's DST schedule, only that
Europe changes on the last Sunday of the same months, so depending on
the year, Libya will either change clocks 2 days earlier or 5 days later
than Europe.

The remaining time, Libya will share the same time as Central Europe
(UTC+1/CET and UTC+2/CEST),

Last time Libya observed DST was back in 1989.

LITHUANIA 7415 Nov 18 at 0228 UT, music on poor signal with flutter,
0234 UT sounds like French announcement. Too bad to keep listening, but
was scheduled special for Radio Waves International 29th anniversary
broadcast at 02-04 UT, 100 kW, 310 degrees via Sitkunai to North America.

RWI is otherwise a French pirate. Strangely enough, despite my reminder
just before 0200 UT to the DXLD yg, I've not seen a single other report of
hearing this in the dxld yg or elsewhere.

MADAGASCAR   [to ZIMBABWE]   12115 {really on 12105?, see below wb.}
1600-1658 UT 250kW 265degrees.

Radio Dialogue (via Talata-Volondry, assuming [a lot] that this is one of
Zimbabwe Community Radio's projects) *1559-1630+ UT 24 Oct-2 Nov. Heard
regularly with drums / "referee" whistle "IS", opening ID in English
[cobbled together over a couple weeks' listening, so it's not necessarily
verbatim correct]

"You are listening to Radio Dialogue, on the shortwave frequency 1-2- 1-1-
5 kiloHertz from 1800 to 1900 hours [has used "6-7 PM" at least once, as
well],

<http://www.radiodialogue.com>

we are also coming to you on Channel ZIM" [according to RD website,
Channel ZIM also has streaming audio from SW Radio Africa and Voice of the
People]. Phone reports/interviews/commentary usually follow with
occasional breaks for music and "Radio Dialogue-Giving You A Voice" and
"Radio Dialogue- - With The Community At Heart" jingles + more casual in-
studio IDs as well most days they open in English and change to
Ndebele/Shona (I assume) around :23, tho on Fridays they start in either N
or S with a couple of guys chatting / joking until English starts at :23
or so with the same guys after canned ID/SMS/phone numbers.

Now that B12 has started, TDP (Issoudun) in DRM gloms onto the frequency
from *1530 to 1630* UT which tends to pitch a spanner into the works for
the first 30 minutes of Dialogue's BC and did I mention the OTHR QRM +
some odd kinda RTTY/digital grunge (sounds like a phone ringing) that's
infesting the area as well? Regardless of all that, Dialogue is worth a
listen if you get the chance.
(Dan Sheedy-CA-USA, dxing_with_cumbre yg via dxld Nov 14)

12105.02 Radio Dialogue FM heard from 1605 UT tune-in on 17 Nov on new

catch the name) about the textile industry. Talk interspersed with
occasional African music. At 1645 into local language and more African
music. Signal lost at 1700 - presumed tx off. Several ID's heard "Radio
Dialogue - Giving You a Voice". Presumed via Madagascar.
(Alan Roe-UK, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Nov 17)

Zimbabwe - Radio Dialogue / Channel Zim.
This was observed signing on 12105 kHz at 1600 UT today Nov 19, starting
in vernaculars then switching to English at 1630 UT. There was a
transmitter outage at 1609-1613 UT. Think it's safe to assume this is the
successor to Zimbabwe Community Radio as it uses the same "football
whistle" interval signal. This was monitored via a Global Tuners receiver
in South Africa, and reception was very good. There's an audio clip of
Radio Dialogue on Interval Signals Online (intervalsignals.net), which is
the 6000th clip on the website.

Yesterday I posted that a Radio Dialogue web stream is accessible from the
Channel Zim webpage <radiovop.com/channelzim>

It seems this is not the case after all, although the timetable published
on that webpage indicates that RD, Radio VOP and SW Radio Africa are
streamed at various times it actually seems to be a continuous stream of
SW Radio Africa programming.
(David Kernick-UK, dxld Nov 19)

12105.02 Radio Dialogue via Talata-Volondry, Madagascar, at *1600-1643 UT

("Radio Dialogue giving you a voice. Radio Dialogue with the community at
heart" and "Radio Dialogue community radio station. Radio Dialogue giving
you a voice. Radio Dialogue with the community at heart. Radio Dialogue,
radio to the people" and also singing "Radio Dialogue" jingles); pop
African songs; no English segment today after 1630 as noted yesterday by
David Kernick (UK).

I had been listening earlier than that and also noted they went off the
air from 1609 to 1613 UT yesterday. Good signal strength, but CODAR QRM.

NIGERIA 7255 Voice of Nigeria in English this evening from 2100 UT on
7255 kHz following the French broadcast (which ends at 2059 UT).

Fulfulde is scheduled at 2100-2200 UT but it has been in English a few
times recently. Not every day as last night the 2100-2200 UT slot carried
only continuous African music with an announcement in vernaculars
at 2159 UT, when it switched into scheduled Hausa.

Quite good reception at the moment (2120 UT).

7255 was completely blocked during the A12 season but seems to be clear
now so we can enjoy evening reception from Nigeria on the channel.
(Dave Kenny-UK, BrDXC-UK yg Nov 21-23)

I think I heard this in English today (23 Nov 2012) on 7255 kHz.

I tuned in at 2145 and heard a female in English introducing and playing
R&B and Hip Hop music from Nigeria. These seemed to be winners from a
Nigerian music awards ceremony. At around 2158 there was an abrupt change
to folk music with lots of percussion, then at 2159 the language changed,
no longer English.
(Scott Walker-PA-USA, dxld Nov 23)

7255 Nov 22 at 2117, VON with African music, whilst serving as BFO for
North American LSB ham declaring that "Metamucil is very similar to Ex-
Lax". At 2152 UT music, 2154 UT audio cutting in and out, then non-English
announcement; 2200 UT in a language which says "Salaam Aleikum", not
Arabic, and probably Hausa as scheduled, while the previous language was
Fulfulde.

I was checking this out because, as mentioned on WoR, Bruce Fisher in New
York as of Nov 19 had been hearing an unlisted VON English transmission
for a few days at 2130-2200 UT, very good to excellent on 7255. Thorsten
Hallmann in Germany has also noted some variations in VON's known
schedule.

OMAN 13600 UNIDENTIFIED. Oman at 0300 UT, English on 13600 kHz. Just
minutes ago, around 0318 UT, I tuned into a weak station on 13600 kHz,
peaking at fair levels for brief moments, playing light pop music by
Alanis Morisette, then a man talking in English (including a clear mention
to "one million"), and then very nice and catchy tunes, including "Sugar
Sugar" by The Archies and "Red, Red Wine" by UB40. However, the online
schedules I found list CRI in Tamil at 0300-0357 UT, and I'm sure this
wasn't a Tamil broadcast! Do you have, by any chance, any idea of what
this station might be?
(Eduardo Peralta-ARG, dxld Nov 17)

Eduardo, No, I have no idea (and would have replied sooner if I had).
Except possibly a pirate. Any further news on this one?
(Glenn to Eduardo, Nov 19, via dxld)

Yes, Glenn. I listened to it today [UT Nov 19] at 0300 UT. No interval
signal, it just begins over CRI. I heard references to Muscat, National
Day, His Majesty, etc. It seems the show they play at that time is The
Breakfast Show with Darren Shortt, but when I mentioned my hearing to the
host on Twitter, he had no idea his show was on SW! The question is, who
might be relaying it? Then Darren Shortt himself told me I actually
listened to Oman FM 90.4, a state station. I'm still surprised they
started using this frequency.

In "New Moscow" will have its own tower.
Annexed territories cover television signal doubler Ostankino Tower, which
will be built next to the Trinity Moscow has to raise an additional
television tower to cover broadcasting annexed territories. The new
"teleigla" will be located in the South Butovo, "it is from her TV signal
will be covered Troitsk," told "Izvestia", the press service of the
Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS). Construction
should begin in 2013. Experts estimate that the project would cost
billions of rubles.

Tower of digital TV broadcasting to new areas 120 m to appear at the
settlement Rogowski (near the village of horns), previously an area of
??four thousand square meters.

- Near South Butovo requires additional object due to the nature of the
terrain, and also considering the fact that it is one of the most remote
areas of the Ostankino Tower in Moscow - said in the RTRS. On the new
"needle" will set the transmitter power of 2 kW. Estimated coverage
broadcast - almost 5 thousand square meters. km.

- This area is located 190 settlements and home to more than 336 thousand
people - said the press service. Externally, the tower will be a typical
steel structure. Site for its construction has already been agreed with
the Moscow department of land resources.

In the future, the new territories of the capital will be more towers. The
exact amount will be determined later. Dozens of similar towers in the
near future will be built in the Moscow region.

- In order to cover a certain area of ??television broadcasting, not
necessarily to build a tower, - said General Director Alexey Raevsky
Zecurion.

- It provides air television, which the world is considered the last
century. According to it, we can pass all six channels. Currently used
cable and satellite TV. Recently in Russia is quite common. According to
experts, the cost of building the tower could cost up to $ 10 billion.

Air television should be maintained for a period of calamities and
disasters, warns the head of the Russian Association of Electronic
Communications Sergey Plugotarenko. In other cases it is now losing
relevance, he said.

According to Plugotarenko, build a second television tower in Moscow for
the standard design is necessary.

- The days when people built the tower and it was an event has passed.
Today, it has only a functional value, - said the expert.

Now air television in Moscow Ostankino provides teleradiobashnya. It was
built in 1967 by architect Batalov. Object height - 540 m tower was the
tallest freestanding structure in the world. In addition, Moscow has
Shukhov Tower, which was designed by Vladimir Shukhov in 1922 for signal
propagation. Now solve the problem of the reconstruction of the tower, it
is in poor condition.

U.K. The current Aoki list shows nothing else from Woofferton with an
azimuth greater than 185deg. But Aoki does show one transmission with an
azimuth of 102 (+180 = 282) degr.

HFCC shows antenna #618 EHR(S)4/4/1.0, described below.

Curtain antenna, half-wave dipole array, dual-band, end-fed, tuned dipole
reflector. Designation: EHR(S) m/n/h

m : number of half-wave dipoles in each horizontal row
n : number of rows spaced half a wavelength apart one above the other
h : height above the ground in wavelengths of the bottom row of dipoles
Possible slew and the design frequency are entered in separate requirement
fields

I wonder if the antenna was designed to be reversible or if a modification
was required to use 282degr? However they're doing it, the 282 bearing
looks like a perfect fit for EaNoAM, a straight line down the eastern
seaboard.
(Jerry Lenamon-TX-USA, dxld Nov 9)

From Nov 5 Aoki has been showing the azimuth as 294degr, matching other
sources.
(Dan Ferguson, ibid.)

Got it. My last Aoki download was 11/02/12. The array is probably the
same, just slewed a bit aiming more to the interior of North America. As a
matter of fact, 294degr is the exact azimuth to central Texas. Still a
puzzle why the signal strength from Woofferton was so much lower than from
Cerrik Albania.
(Jerry Lenamon-TX-USA, Nov 9, dxld)

I've got this kind answer from David Porter G4OYX:

Here are the transmissions to North America from Woofferton-UK,
all are Voice of Vietnam broadcast relays.

Sender #91 RIZ 250 kW AMC
01.00:00-01.27:40 UT 9640 kHz, ant 910 at 294degrees, English
01.29:55-02.29:55 UT 9640 kHz, ant 926 at 308degrees, Vietnamese
02.39:00-03.00:00 UT 9640 kHz, ant 926 at 308degrees, English

Sender #92 RIZ 250 kW AMC
03.29:55-04.00:00 UT 9640 kHz, ant 910 at 294degrees, Vietnamese
04.29:55-05.29:40 UT 7345 kHz, ant 931 at 310degrees, Vietnamese

All the above arrays are HRR4/4/1 but the last transmission has been run
on antenna 927 at 306degrees, and that array is HRRS 4/4/.5,
so that may account for the field strength changes.

All these arrays can be used on the forward bearings rather than on these
reversed bearings.
