     8J1RL is the clubstation of the Japan Amateur Radio League (JARL) on
     at the Japanese research station "SYOWA" which was founded in Jan 1957.
     8J1RL is activated by members of the of the Japanese Antarctic Research
     Expedition team (JARE). The team usually changes in February and there
     is a new QSL design every year. QSL via bureau.

XU, CAMBODIA
     Zorro,JH1AJT, Jay,JA1TRC, Aki,JA4EKO, Masaru,JA5AQC, Champ,E21EIC,
     Kazu,JH1OGX, and other HAMs will be QRV as XU1A from Dec 5-17. They
     plan to work with three stations simultaneously using 2 yagis, dipoles
     and groundplanes in CW/SSB/digital modes on 160m-10m (maybe also 6m).

     "DX World Guide" by Franz Langner,DJ9ZB. This book has 384 pages in
     English and will be published as print or CD version.

HL, SOUTH KOREA: Following rules apply to foreign licensees in South Korea:
     When applying for a South Korean license foreign amateurs may choose
     between a Korean callsign or HL*/homecall. The callsign blocks range
     from HL1Z** to HL1Z** and the number depends on the location in Korea.
     If HL1ZAA moves to area 5, he can apply for a permanent change to
     HL5ZAA, if he only visits another area he can use HL1ZAA/5.
     The foreign language repeater in Seoul was moved on top of a 600m high
     mountain: RX 439.6 MHz, TX 434.6 MHz with 123 Hz subtone. Any language
     other than Korean is allowed on this repeater.

Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity: The German amateur radio club
     DARC introduced an application to the IARU Region 1 Conference 2011
     in Sun City to take steps to protect the Morse code as a Intangible
     Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This has been implemented now and the
     Managing Board of the IARU Region 1 distributed application forms to
     all member associations of IARU region 1, which can be adjusted to
     local needs and then forwarded to their National UNESCO Commission.
