TONY'S 10 METRE BAND REPORT - May 9, 2013

May 9, 2013

A weird week. Early days of the week good, Thursday and Friday very poor, Saturday and Sunday very good. Again, a different top DX each day.
I’ve been experimenting with my IC 7600 and HRD (Ham Radio Deluxe).
A brand-new faulty USB-3 hub gave me a lot of problems but all sorted. Now for Digi modes on ten metres.
CA7FKG, Mauricio , sent this in for Thursday,
“QSO with A92GE in Freq.: 28470.0
UTC 15:12 SNT:59 RCV:57 is very good DX in Chiloé Island.”
Pretty good for a not-too-good Thursday.
Piju, 9M2PJU (Oh nice call) reports that a Malaysian Special Expedition Team went to Perhentian Island on 1st May - 3rd May 2013 to activate IOTA AS-073 together with 9M2/SP5APW. 9M2SE Team made 568 QSOs on CW mode and 20++ QSOs on SSB mode. Our operators are Piju 9M2PJU, Khairul 9M2KRZ, Rizal 9M2RDX, Azuddin 9M2CIO and Jack SP5APW who also operating as 9M2/SP5APW.
Our equipment was
Elecraft K3 Transceiver
Yaesu FT897D
2 Ele tribander Yagi antenna
Buddypole
Vertical wire for 40 meters
10 meters telescopic pole
And if you follow the link to their web site you can get a QSO with Our Big Dave, VK5MRD. Link
And Dave, VK5MRD got ZL2UJI on fm twice.

Sun: Seven sunspot clusters with just one a possible threat for flares.
Stoke City drew 1 – 1 at Sunderland last Saturday but Tuesday Wigan lost to Swansea so we (Stoke) are now officially safe and still in the Premier League next season. Spurs at the Brit on Sunday, I’ll be there.
