TONY'S 10 METRE BAND REPORT - June 13, 2013

00:11 Fernando Luiz de Souza 0 Comments

I’m having more fun than you can shake a stick at
with my IC-7600 and HRD + DM 780 software. I just can’t seem to get on much at weekends when most of the activity is.

The registration for LoTW is a bit of a trial but I got there. eQSL is easier and then you have to get AG (Authenticity Guaranteed) but I’m there now.

With HRD Log the whole thing runs like a dream.
But I’m now like Dave VK5MRD, it’s difficult to get a good stretch on 10m.
This week conditions were not great till Sunday really.
IW1CHX did a good stint at spotting and FJ/N5WR (St Barts) was popular all week along with 7T9A (Special Call For 50th Anniversary Of The Creation Of A.R.Algeria), J28UC (Djibouti) and HV4NAC (Vatican).

The first report from G4CJC. I worked all these since last weekend: OE3OIL, IN3RSV, IK5ZUB, DO1CDE, CT1BNW, EA1YN, UR5FBX, SP9AHW, RV6AFG, EA1SV, EA1DFU, HA7AH, CE2WZ, IK7RVY, SP5OXJ, EA5HRE, D2QR, 4Z5OY, EA5FIF, EA6ES, EA7GOJ, CU2AP and CS7ABQ mostly on PSK31 but some on SSB.

My prize one is 4Z5OY, Ayran, who I worked on PSK and then he gave me a call on Echolink. Excellent. It was also good to work David, CE2WZ in Chile. He has been known to send in reports here.

And 4Z5OY, Ayran sent in a report for Saturday. He worked DO4EL 599, YO8SCT 599, DG3YDG 599, T6T 599, 2E0DDM and RW4NJ. He said, “PSK31 AND 28.122 MHz are a nice couple !!” I do agree.

I did get an odd report from OZ8FU, Fredi, which kind of indicated he’d worked himself on 10m fm. Try again Fredi.

Sun: With the sunspot number dropping to almost zero (just spot 1765), solar activity is very low. No strong flares are expected today.

Nothing much new on the footy front except our (England) U21s got knocked out of their competition fairly easily and they were a fancied team. Republic of Ireland did well with 3 Stoke City players in.

The cricket is going well, a gripping game Sri Lanka v New Zealand, went down to the last ball. And England duly beat a lack-lustre Australia.
But early days yet.
