Tony Dixon G4CJC
Not so good during the week, improving on
the weekend for the contest.
I work quite a few on the Saturday but devoted my self to the end of the first Ashes test on the Sunday, well worth it!
No single station as a top call all week, plenty of HQ
(Head Quarters) station about.
Steve, M0STC, used data modes to work EA2CFR 5/9, DL1BSZ 5/9, YO2LGK -12 (JT65),and EA3DME -05 (JT65) on Saturday.
On Sunday he heard ZS6PET, LU1DA, LU5AB, PY2AF and PS7KC all on data. He says, “Been trying for North/Central America, but no luck even though I see the real time QSO maps did show one or two such QSOs. Might try pointing towards SE Asia next week (and getting up early).”
Since the last report, GV4CJC (me) worked 9A282EU, OK2OV, EB5CS, YT8A, IO9H, P33W, YT0HQ, IZ4AFW, S50HQ, EC5AN, US5D, SN0HQ, HG0HQ, E7HQ, EF7HQ, OL3HQ, 9A28HQ, I0UZF, IZ6FXP, EA3GLB, 9A7JCY, EA5ICU, EA4LO, ED7R, ED3B, IO9H, ED3B, F1RCH, HA2QW, US3IOG, UT0EG, SQ3MVH, EA6/W3DM, IW8PQ, OH1FUS, US7TJ, I5/ON7MV/P, IW0GEQ, SQ3PAK, RK6A, IT9AUG, EA8/RW3DO, EA1LY and IZ4ZZB, in a good mix of SSB and PSK31.

This weekend again I’m tied up with family stuff, may get the odd few minutes. Plus of course there is the 2nd Ashes Test from Lord’s. No whistles, bells, fancy dress and the like, just sensible cricket lovers!! And lots of lager and Pedigree real beer.

Still no season ticket from Stoke, but then the matches are 5 weeks away and there’s Ashes cricket in between. One up to England in the most exciting and incident filled cliff hanger of a game. England won by 14 runs. The Lord’s Ashes test starts Thursday. I have tickets for the last day, Monday.

Stop press! I just got 2 pairs of tickets for the Ashes test in Sydney January 2014. The air fares are astronomical.
