10-11 May 2014

On Saturday and Sunday, 10th/11th May 2014 the Netherlands will be holding a National Windmill and Pumping Station weekend during which many windmills and pumping stations will be open to the public to view.  For many years, in the U.K., the events of this weekend have been shared with amateur radio stations and became known as the ‘Mills on the Air’ weekend. In 2009 Jelle (PD5JFK) and Bernard (PB7Z) decided to set up for the first time their own special radio station to contact mills in Holland and elsewhere in Europe and so advertise the opening of Windmills and Pumping Stations. This proved to be so popular with millers and volunteers alike that they were encouraged to repeat this promotion each year and this year is the 6th year.

Their web site shows those windmills and pumping stations that will be on air over the weekend of 10/11th May 2014 not only in Holland but in other European countries as well. If you would like to register your mill on the air please contact us on and we will do the rest. After this weekend it will be possible to put your Contacts Log online as well should you wish. This will be the first year that the sponsors are extending the award to be international and include all radio stations at mills not only in Holland but worldwide.
