ALBANIA 7470, on Nov 25 at 0250 UT, no signal from Radio Tirana Shijak
site, not even a JBA carrier. Think it must be off, as still getting 40mb
signals on 7395 & 7340 kHz from Romania, even 7445 kHz from BBC Oman relay
tho very poor; not to mention 9420 kHz Greece, 9410 & 9650 kHz Turkey in
Spanish. Tirana not on ex-7425 kHz either, but I should have plumbed
7465 kHz thoroly in case it slipped back to that alternative.

ANGOLA 4949.733 kHz Radio Nacional Angola, Mulenvos site. S=5 tiny weak
signal. 2155 UT on Nov 21.

ANTARCTICA Antarktis - Neumayer Station.

A-DXer Felix Riess DL5XL  {work as DP1POL call}
F_B-seite
<http://a-dx.at/facebook>

AUSTRIA 6155, on Nov 25 at 0650 UT, classical music, good signal from
OE1 radio program [via ORS Moosbrunn-AUT site], usual morning wake-up
session and a pleasure to hear on SW, but over all too soon, into German

BELARUS [and non]. Contradictory schedule data for Radio Belarus

There appears to be confusion about the current time slots for the AM
transmitter operations in Minsk, probably related to summer time being
abandoned in Belarus. HFCC shows that 11730 kHz is supposed to start at
1200 UT. But I find it already on at 1130 [start from 1100 UT, wb],
resulting in a bad clash with BSKSA, using this frequency till 1200 for
Europe.

The other way round, Radio Belarus shows 1170 kHz for the Polish program
segment they air between 1600 and 1800 UT. But a few days ago the
transmitter stayed on until 1900 UT. I had no opportunity so far to check
out whether this is an additional hour (which would merely mean cutting
off in midst the German segment) or probably the transmission starts not
before 1700 UT (and thus does not contain the complete Polish segment
either).

Surprisingly they indeed stick to the summer frequency 11930 kHz as shown
in HFCC. When checking after 1900 UT(don't know when in fact it comes up
and what the current slots for BR 1 on 7255 kHz are) it had, just like
// 11730 kHz, already faded out not only here in Eastern Germany but also
on the Dutch SDR, with only faint, unusable residual signals remaining.

Apparently some efforts have been made to repair the 11730 kHz
transmitter. The hum has been reduced (but noises between about 200 and
500 Hz are still present) and the program audio raised somewhat.

6080 kHz, confirmed as being operated after 1900 UT with BR 1 for the
Ukraine, sounded a few days ago still pretty hummy, though, as far as one
could tell with poor reception
{127degr lobe south-eastwards to EaUKR, Volga/Caucasus target}.

BOTSWANA VOA Botswana Had trouble getting a verie back from them?
Ian Cattermole has finally had success and suspects new manager has
arrived. This came from a report via their website.

Hello Mr. Cattermole,
Greeting to you in New Zealand from the Voice of America Transmitting
Station in Botswana, Africa. Thank you for your informative reception
report. The program you identified was indeed transmitted from this
facility using a Continental 100 kW transmitter and a 90 meter tall TCI
phased array antenna system.

The low frequency of 9815 kHz offers great propagation during those hours.
The side lobes of that broadcast (which you received) are the reason for
the fair reception. Best regards and again, thank you!!!

Thanks a tip of Manuel from Spain, noted GNE very tiny signal here in

but signal increased in 1900-1945 UT slot. Station closes irregularly
between 1940 and 2000 UT. Heard also tonigth at same time slot by Michael
Haun in Menorca-Spain and Christoph Ratzer in Salzburg-Austria.

this type of music, this was especially enjoyable! Best in USB, to get

I don't speak Dutch, but I could tell this post at The Mighty KBC Facebook

voorlopig de laatste Transportradio op kortegolf ... Vrijdag 27 November!

So Bob van Beeten's Dutch-language Transportradio show, Monday, Thursday,
and Friday at 0900-1100 UT, leaves MBR Nauen 6095 kHz after November 27.
Bob will still be heard on KBC's 1602 kHz and DAB outlets.

'Mighty KBC Radio' is still on 6095 kHz Sunday 0900-1700 UT,
and on 7395 kHz Saturday 2300-Sunday 0200 UT.

Then again, as a sidenote - no idea which source the WRTH were using when

The older (DSV-150) unit wasn't being used at full power for quite a

POLAND Polonia Censores Comercial Radio Estacion Eso Airs Sputnik

The Polish government has begun censoring independent media in the
country. The first one to fall is the Polish commercial radio station
Radio Hobby.

The Polish National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) canceled the broadcasting
license of Radio Hobby, which airs Radio Sputnik Polska.

Radio Hobby broadcasts Radio Sputnik for an hour every day between 9 PM
and 10 PM, based on a contract signed three years ago the radio station
Voice of Russia.

"But you promised there will be no censorship,"
Sputnik Polska reader Jan Kowalski commented on the story.

The reason why Radio Hobby's license was cancelled was due to the fact
that the radio station was allegedly selling its airtime to a foreign
government, Pawel Kubalski, the founder of Radio Hobby, told Sputnik
Polska.

However, the selling of the airtime to a foreign government is not
forbidden.

"Polskie Radio Program I [the Polish government's public radio
broadcaster] airs the hour-long program Radio Vatican; that is, if we're
deprived of our license I'll ask the government broadcasting council to do
the same with Polskie Radio Program, so they would also have their license
revoked," Kubalski told Sputnik.

Interestingly, the license troubles for Radio Hobby happened during the
same week the new right-wing Law and Justice Party (PiS) presented its
cabinet. PiS came out victorious in the October 25 national election with
37.58 % of the votes, raking in 232 seats in the 460-member lower chamber
of the Polish parliament.

However, Kubalski doesn't believe that the PiS was behind the act, as
KRRiT is still under the control of the old government. That's why it's a
hoax made to show Russia that it was the new government that decided to
revoke the license right after their inauguration.

"It's a political intrigue and we've gotten right in the center of it,"
Kubalski said, as cited by Sputnik Polska.

Radio Hobby has been broadcasting the Russian radio show for 5 years.
During this time, nobody said anything against it, including the PiS, the
most anti-Russian political party in Poland, Kubalski said.

The situation is absurd, Kubalski said. Radio Hobby would start the
administrative procedure to defend its legal rights, demanding KRRiT to
revise the decision. The whole thing is going to take a couple of months,
the head of Radio Hobby revealed. Poland Censors Commercial Radio Station

SAUDI ARABIA [tentativelly] 11860 kHz, Republic of Yemen Radio - Radio
Sana'a - Pro-Had

Auf 11860 kHz ist nach 18 UT "Republic of Yemen Radio - Radio Sana'a -
Pro-Had" zu hoeren, der Sender koennte lt. BrDXC in Saudi Arabien stehen.

Chris Greenway reported via BrDXC-UK/dxld on 20 Oct 2015 the existence of
a broadcast on shortwave in support of Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur
Hadi. President Hadi, who was deposed by Houthi rebels in 2014 and
subsequently fled to Saudi Arabia in March 2015, recently returned to the
southern city of Aden to reportedly supervise an offensive against rebels.

Tarek Zeidan from Cairo-EGY reported an ID at 2000 UT on 20 Oct 2015 as
"Huna Sana'a idhaat aljumhuriya alyamaniya al bernamaj al a'am" ("This is
Sana'a, Republic of Yemen Radio General Programme, with news about the
return of the Yemeni president to Aden").

Tarek SU1TZ adds, that according to some sources there are two
transmissions, the first one from 0700 to 1200 and the second one from
2100 to 0200 UT.

Tarek checked the audio stream of Sana'a online and there was a different
feed talking about the Saudi invasion of Yemen, so that was operated by
the Houthi rebels supporting the former president of Yemen Ali Abdul Allah
Saleh.

According to an online source the pro-Hadi transmission on shortwave is
from Aden, but based on the fact that Yemen is having problems with power
and a lot of blackouts, leaving the greater part of Yemen without
electricity, it must be coming from a nearby country, presumably Saudi
Arabia.

Transmitter Site: believed to be in Saudi Arabia.

Times/UTC Days Language Target Freq/kHz
0400-0900 (0700-1200 local) Daily Arabic Yemen 11860
1800-2300 (2100-0200 local) Daily Arabic Yemen 11860

SAUDI ARABIA [to Yemen] 11860, Nov 25 at 2054 UT and still at 2140 UT,
nothing but a JBA carrier can I draw from the clandestine "Radio Sanaa".

Saying it's via Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the new dxld yg member I referred to
in previous report is in Algeria, not Tunisia; my mistake. Now I've heard
from another contact:

"Esteemed Glen[n], Just heard here in Jeddah the clandestine broadcast of
Radio Sana on 11860 kHz with patriotic songs up to 2100 UT from which a
clear ID announcement by OM and followed by news read by OM
(Jawahar Shaikh-ALG, 2114 UT Nov 22, dxld)"

Ivo Ivanov says it's a 50 kW transmitter, non-direxional from Jeddah, but
how does he know this, or is it just an educated guess? Anyhow, the span
is 04-09 & 18-23 UT.
