ARMENIA 1350 QSL TWR, via Gavar relay, 1350 kHz verified a report with
a F/D eQSL in 29 days.

V/S: Kalman Dolbos who writes: "Dear Mr. Napolitano, Thank you for your
e-mail with a reception report for one of our transmissions. On behalf of
Trans World Radio, I'm verifying it with the attached eQSL card, but the
exact location of the transmitter site I'm not allowed to disclose.

Hopefully, you understand that". That's why my eQSL includes "Central
Asia" and not "Gavar-Armenia" as transmitter site.

ASCENSION ISL Hi Wolfgang, I was very interested to read that you also
found ... ASCENSION ISL 7415 AID Dandal Kura Radio in Kanuri language
(acc Aoki Nagoya frequency list), very difficult program feed line via
internet web?
S=8 signal at 0525 UT on Febr 14. Phone-in program by two men.

7445 BBCMS English about refugees in central Europe / EU.
Compared signal much stronger at S=9+30dB signal level.

I can't hear either now, but late last year and early this I could hear
7445 kHz most days - fair strength -, but enough to copy what it was.

This was at around my "usual" listening time of 0730 UT. But 7415 kHz was
hardly ever heard - when it was -, it was a very weak signal.

I assume that 7415 kHz is via a very directional antenna to EaAfrica while
7445 kHz is coming up the west coast. Best 73 from Noel
(Noel R. Green-UK, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Febr 14)

Re: Ascension logs. Hello dear Noel,

On 7445 kHz used a broadband ITU type '#607' antenna
of Horizontal log-periodic kind, slewed at 102 degrees mainlobe,

but ASC 7415 kHz requested is a sharp narrowed
CURTAIN type '#216' antenna at 55 degr mainlobe.

Gottes Segen, Ihr Horst Rosiak

Re Ugandan Diaspora P10 Radio: Harald Kuhl reports that they plan to
continue at least until Feb 20, on the 19 and 31 m bands. People aren't
hearing the morning broadcast supposedly on 9685 kHz. So try 17840 kHz
before 1600 UT,
15680 kHz until 1900 UT; or original 15405 kHz at 1630-1700 UT.

(It doesn't look good for Kizza Besigye; see:

OPPOSITION LEADER ARRESTED AS UGANDA HOLDS ELECTIONS
Kizza Besigya arrested by police just before the end of the voting, which
President Museveni is expected to win ...

<http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/02/ugandans-vote-museveni-seeks-extend-30-year-rule-160218044525608.html>

Results are not expected until Saturday Feb 20. But all this might prolong
the opposition radio if they have enough resources. BTW, VOA was patting
itself on back for one of their correspondents previously moderating a
candidates' debate.)

Besides a daily broadcast at 1630-1700 UT on 15405 kHz, Uganda Diaspora
Radio were to run specials on Feb 18 elexion day, according to Patrick
Robic on the A-DX list via Eike Bierwirth, DXLD yg:

03-06 9490, 09-11 & 13-16 17840, 16-19 15880 [sic]. See
<https://www.ugandadiasporap10.org/>
<https://www.ugandadiasporap10.org/uganda-diaspora-radio/>

A different frequency for the morning broadcast 03-06 UT, 9685 kHz
according to Mauno Ritola, WRTH Facebook via Alan Pennington, BDXC-UK yg;
also 15680 kHz instead of 15880 kHz at 16-19 UT, so someone's typo?
And 9685 kHz would also be added the next morning Febr 19 at 04-06 UT.

So I check both, Feb 18 at 0340 UT:
9490, nothing but jamming and maybe R. Republica; 9685 open except for
occasional ute(?) noises. Not using 9490 would certainly be a good idea
due to the Cuban radio war. At 0453 UT, 9490 jamming has diminished to
pulsing and bubbling, and still nothing audible on 9685 kHz.

Listeners in Europe or via SDRs were hearing the 17840 kHz broadcasts on
Feb 18, but at 1451 UT for me direct, it's a JBA carrier (Saudi 17615 and
17705 kHz are very poor, e.g.) I recheck 17840 kHz at 1555 UT and now I
hear a W & M conversation in English with musical background, referring to
ringing loud bells, and neat and combed hair. Hmmm. Poor signal and cut
off abruptly a few seconds before 1559* UT, typical MBR behavior.

Further chex: nothing on 15405 kHz at 1630 UT as maybe the daily broadcast
has been skipped today because of the special supposed to be on 15880 or
15680 kHz after 1600 UT nothing there nor on 17840 kHz either. Then Manuel
Mendez in Spain reports hearing this on 15680 kHz. So at 1750 UT I try all
of them, with zero results: 15405, 15680, 15880, 17840 kHz.

Speculation is that site could be MBR via Nauen or Trincomalee, as there
was a mis-switch for a while to AWR programming in Hindi at 1532 UT per
Richard Langley and Manuel Mendez! I don't think I would be getting Sri
Lanka on 17840 kHz before 1600 UT (nor would they sensibly transmit from
there around local midnite on 16m), but could be Germany, or France. Ivo
Ivanov agrees the site is "unknown, probably MBR" with 9685, 15405, 17840,
and 15680 kHz the correct frequencies.
(Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, hcdx and dxld Febr 19)

Uganda Diaspora Radio - Fair signal here at 1030 UT on Febr 18 on 17840
kHz. It was very strong yesterday evening around 1630 UT on 15405 kHz.
Anyone know where is the transmitter, Babcock ?
(Christian Ghibaudo-F, BrDXC-UK ng Febr 18)

Also heard Uganda Diaspora Radio with very strong signal on 17840 kHz
between 1458 and 1534 UT in English on Febr 18. Man discussing about
his school years as a boy, followed what appeared by a brief newscast
at 1503 UT by man reporting about US statement on Ugandan killings during
the campaign. Woman IDs station and advises voters to break the law and
use their cellphones at polling stations to report irregularities.
She asks them to post them on social media. Traditional music and songs
throughout broadcast. At 1530 UT, AWR ID, but Diapora Radio continues.
(Marty Delfin-ESP, dxld Febr 18)

Went off at 1100 UT. Back at 13 UT on 17840 kHz as scheduled now
(for 3 hrs until 1600 UT). Fair strength signal on clear channel here
despite poor conditions - opposition political speeches etc, mainly in
English, plus African songs. Sounds like a repeat of earlier broadcast?

[later] At 1530 UT on 17840 kHz there was short AWR sign-on ID (before
reverting back to Uganda Diaspora Radio programming). Suggests transmitter
site may be Nauen or Moosbrunn?? Still good signal on 17840 kHz here
(1540 UT). Scheduled to switch to 15680 kHz at 1600 UT according to
schedule and on-air announcements.

UBC TV Twitter said voting extended to 7pm local (1600 UT) in some areas
(voting was due end 4pm local (1300 UT). But all programming is recorded
on Uganda Diaspora Radio.

I wonder if UBC Radio will be on air today for the election (4976 kHz?)
Not heard on air here ages.
(Alan Peddington-UK, BrDXC-UK ng Febr 18)

17840 Uganda Diaspora Radio, at 1520-1533 UT on Febr 18, English,
comments, advises about Uganda elections. At 1530 UT program of Adventist
World Radio, identification in English and program in Hindi, but after few
minutes, Uganda Diaspora Radio again. 44444.

15680 Uganda Diaspora Radio, at 1718-1730 UT on Febr 18, English,
instructions to vote in Uganda elections "Ugandan people vote in peace",
Vernacular music and songs. Very strong signal. 45444.
(Manuel Mendez-ESP, DXplorer Febr 18)

INDONESIA 9680 on Feb 14 at 1426 UT, absolutely no signal here, not
even a JBA carrier, so no RRI Pro 4 reactivated. The other RRI/VOI
frequency, 9525- kHz, does have a JBA carrier, which is the best it ever
does here. Also, the China/Taiwan radio war must be over at 1400 UT; and
KNLS, if foolish enough to collide with them earlier, is taking a break
during this hour. I'm checking because of this recent report:

"9680.00, at 1220-1235 UT on Jan 30, RRI Jakarta 4, Cimanggis (tentative).
Bahasa Indonesia talk, music, 42432, QRM R Taiwan Int. in Chinese

U.K./SINGAPORE BBC beschliesst Sendungen nach Nordkorea.

KBS aus Sued-Korea meldet:

BBC beschliesst Sendungen nach Nordkorea.

Die BBC wird ab Herbst Kurzwellen-Programme auf Koreanisch nach
Nordkorea senden.

Kurzwellen-Empfangsgeraete besaessen.

Nordkorea wird hoechstwahrscheinlich heftig gegen die Sendungen
protestieren. Bereits vor zwei Monaten hatte das nordkoreanische
Aussenministerium dem britischen Parlament einen Protestbesuch
abgestattet.

We were tipped about this by K4RAF:

"Heylo Glenn, I got news [perhaps] for you. 6915 kHz showed up at 2345z
today.

Weak into VA but at 0000z, it ID'd as WRMI. Thought it was either a spur
or a pirate relaying a stream of Brother Stair. I called the station &
spoke with Jeff White, founder of WRMI. I confirmed it was a new frequency
as of tomorrow 2/17/16.

As per their webpage schedule, 6915 kHz will be 24/7 hrs/d Brother
Stair!!! Yeah!!!

100 kW at 265 degrs [toward San Diego-CA]. Very nice guy. He was shocked
at being found within 30 mins of transmitting on 6915 kHz. The frequency
gets HAMMERED by OTH radar & other UTEs so this may be short lived.
Best regards! Rafman of HF Underbround".
