TONY'S 10 METRE BAND REPORT - March 22, 2017

23:54 Fernando Luiz de Souza 0 Comments

Not the greatest of weeks for quantities of DX but the quality was there and, as I understand it, the operating was good.

I listened for TU7C (Ivory Coast) and 5U5R (Niger) and 9G5X (Ghana) amongst others, not a peep. Nor S21ZED (Bangladesh)!

Tuesday, RafaelYV5RED/qrp worked TI2DYS -1 @2057 and heard: PU4ENY @2049 -9, LU5CQC -20 @2051, W9BS -4 @2057, LU3EJW -8 @2113, LU1DMF -17 @2115, PU2KFL -4 @2127, LU4HOQ -15 @21.

He says, “From 2049 to 2202 UTC / Minor (G1) geomagnetic storm conditions observed within the past few hours. A high speed solar wind stream above 600 km/s is flowing from a geoeffective coronal hole and is causing the disturbance (Source: SolarHam.net).

Hi Tony!, First at all, my special thanks to you for your great work related to this report. Asking to your question about my favorite digimode, it's the JT65 Protocol, because in my opinion is the most effective digimode for DX contacts on this part of the Solar Cycle 24, by the way that continues to be lowest in nearly 200 years (Source https://wattsupwiththat.com/2016/02/11/solar-cycle-24-activity-continues-to-be-lowest-in-nearly-200-years/). So, I hope to catch you soon to all of you around the globe on the frecuencies using JT65 Protocol from here to 4-5 years to come. «...Many years of poor condition are in front of us. We have now a good opportunity to step forward and look at this «dark period» that will last for several years to come, and bring all this on a positive manner. With some perspective and also with good will, it could be also a great period to do some «experimentation» and enhance our knowledge into this great hobby!, OK then, but what “experimentation” could we do could help us to resolve the bands condition??? The use of a combination of two important things. First of all, our good will, then…. the digital modes! Many will say : “OK Jeff, we all tried PSK31 or RTTY!!! Now what??!?” But my short answer would be : “But, did you try a more effective mode… like JT-65???” Source: «Poor» HF condition?!? I’m still having fun!!! By VA2SS → https://va2ss.com/2017/01/14/poor-hf-condition-im-still-having-fun/ -...»”

Wow, I have to applaud what you say.

Sun: No spots. The current run of zero spots is 15 days.

Stoke really gave Chelsea a game and were 1 – 1 up to the 87 th minute. Then they got a last gasp goal. More jam than Hartleys! No games this week for an international break.
