ANGUILLA 11775, on July 12 at 1345 UT, PMS is back on with OK
modulation. However, Harold Frodge says it cut off at 1422:10* UT today in
mid-preach. I recheck at 1916 UT, it's still off.

Meanwhile, as I read later in the dxld yg, Chuck, W3ON was hearing
Caribbean Beacon on 11865 instead of 11775 kHz at 1856-1910 UT, OK
modulation. This was previously reported by Dave Valko a few weeks ago as
a spur of 11775 kHz. Then I check at 2043 UT to find nothing on 11865 kHz,
but 11775 kHz is back on with dead air. At 2101 UT it's off again.

... heard here undisturbed for first time on 6090 kHz on July 9, wb.

ASCENSION ISL [to Nigeria target] 12050, Radio Dandal Kura - via
Babcock FMO, at Ascension Isl relay, via End-fed dipole array with tuned
reflector, 2046-2059* UT on July 8, although channel was dominated by
WEWN. I could hear a man announcer speaking in listed Kanuri language
underneath. Vocal selection at 2056 UT followed by a woman announcer with
closedown announcements.

AUSTRIA ORS Moosbrunn shortwave bcast center video

An interesting video showing a visit to the ORS Moosbrunn transmitting
site has been posted to YouTube by Max Berger, and although the language
is in German, it's still well worth a watch even for non-German speakers,
as it shows some great shots of the antennas, transmitters
and control room:

Die International Amateur Radio Union Region 1 (IARU-R1)-Tagung in
Landshut in 2017, 16. bis 23 September.

club/distrikte/s/ortsverbaende/01/nachrichten/detailansicht-
archiv/news/vorbereitungsgespraech-fuer-die-iaru-region-1-tagung-in-
landshut/>

Vom 5. bis 7. Mai traf sich das IARU-Region 1 Executive Komitee (EC) in
Landshut.

(IARU) in Deutschland tagt.

September 2017 findet in Landshut / Niederbayern

<dl7ate -at- darc.de> melden.

<www.iaru2017.org> berichtet.

Info von Steffen, DL7ATE, vom Orga-Team der Region-1 Konferenz.

Abie Nathan: Der israelische Friedensaktivist und sein Piratensender
"The Voice of Peace".

From somewhere in the Mediterranean. Abie Nathan, Odysseus.
Von Mona Winter (RBB/WDR 2016).

In der Reihe "Abgetaucht. Geschichten vom Wasser". Im OE1 Online-Auftritt
begleitet von Arbeiten der Fotokuenstlerin Silvia Maria Grossmann.

Abie Nathan - Frauenheld, Freigeist, Friedensaktivist.
"The Voice of Peace" und sendet Friedensbotschaften an Millionen von
Zuhoerer/innen.

Hello Wolfie ! Many special thanks for Your mail !
I returned from the village on 6th July at the evening.

Yesterday Friday & today Saturday 7 & 8 July I checked 576 MW - no more
prgrs from 0500 uT, from 1200 UT & from 1730 UT in Turkish language,
as was 3 times daily earlier. I do not know whether the txs at Kardzali
are existing now on MW or the prgr will be only via FM (it is bad work
to use FM in the big net of many turkish FMs.

On all Black Sea coast the Turkish FMs are dominating on the air
and is hard to listen to even local Bulgarian FM stations.

CANADA CKZN: Still Off the Air and Still Wanting Comments.

Latest information from St. John's is that there is no date, as yet, for
CKZN returning to the air. Comments are still wanted and not just from
Labradorians, it seems. They are interested in getting comments from
elsewhere in Canada.

After all, all Canadian taxpayers help to fund the CBC. All comments get
funnelled to Larry Wartman who is the senior manager for transmission
operations and he is based in Halifax. Some might know him as a QSL card
signer for some CBC stations. He can be reached at 902-445-6040 or
via e-mail at

Re: 1 kHz Testton auf der Frequenz von Radio Kongo...

Hallo Nochamal, vorgestern Montag 10. Juli:
Testton auf 6115 bis ca. 1900 UT;
gestern Dienstag 11. Juli: nix.
heute Mittwoch 12. Juli: Traeger auf ca. 6113.9 kHz,
schon seit kurz nach 1700 UT beobachtet.

Seltsam, seltsam.
Wer? Eritrea? 7175 kHz ist heute gg. 1710 UT off
gegangen.

vielleicht kommt mal wieder was aus Zentralafrika ?!
immer gegen 1815/1820 UT. Der Testton war puenktlich um 19 UT vorbei.

CUBA 5025 Radio Rebelde Bauta has an audio failure this morning July 6,
between 0500 and 0510 UT noted fair S=8 carrier in remote central Florida
SDR post, but only HEAVY DISTORTED low level modulation so far. Nothing of
the content could be traced.

But break appeared on both 5025 and 5040 kHz at 0538 UT. So, the Bauta
technician engineer solved the failure now. And afterwards also R Rebelde
5025 kHz appeard WELL IN THE CLEAR as S=9+20dB.

CUBA 6145, on July 8 at 0422 UT, RHC is still AWOL from this English
frequency, while 6000 kHz is poor and undermodulated; 6060 kHz Spanish is
good. I knew I would be wasting my time, but quite a while since I last
checked

<http://radiohc.cu/interesantes/frecuencias>

Yup, *still* dated Abril-Noviembre *2016* so worse than useless for
current info: "6165" kHz at 01-07 UT.

11840, on July 8 at 0435 UT, RHC is JBM in Spanish at only S4, but still
enough to drag along the JBA spurcarriers on 11830 & 11850 kHz.

15140, on July 8 at 1805 UT, no signal from RHC which is supposed to be in
Arabic now; there is some weak Arabic, no doubt OMAN, which had this
frequency first but RHC used to usurp it; and probably still will by
1900 UT for English; yet it seems that RHC is limping along with at least
one less transmitter operational than usual.
(Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, hcdx and dxld July 8)

CUBA 6145, on July 13 at 0114 UT, RHC English is back on the air!
Had been missing more than a week from this frequency at random evening
chex. Now it's S=9+45dB with good modulation level but some hum.
// 6000 kHz at 0117 check is less modulated at S=9+30dB, also some hummy.

MADAGASCAR Sorry Glenn, I'were not aware yet about two
- or more - WCB MWV different called English language programs from
Mahajanga site, so I can only tell a weak 'technical' signal.
73 wolfie

Wolfie, No big deal. I see Aoki labels all broadcasts from MWV as
KNLS, but for future reference, even if you can't hear enough of the
English programming to distinguish, the setup has been (unless they
change or mix it up), whatever the current frequencies:

African Pathways Radio at 04, 18 and 20, targets on Africa.
New Life Station (same program as on KNLS itself), at the other times:
01 and 03. Note these are aimed at SoAsia.

Also the Chinese and Russian must be same as KNLS, but the Arabic and
Spanish are also separate productions never heard on Alaska. 73,

MADAGASCAR 17640 MWV African Pathways Radio - from new Mahajanga SW
site, at 1838-1850 UT on July 8, man announcer with long religious talk in
the English language followed by a choir vocal selections. Either close
down early or transmitter problem at 1850 UT. Poor to fair in noisy
conditions.

OMAN 12015, on July 13 at 0054 UT, Qur'an at S1-S4, something I have
not noticed before. HFCC shows only thing at 22-02 UT is RSO, 100 kW
at 220 degrees. Aoki agrees except 315 degrees, which is more likely as
that would be aimed USward. RSO makes lots of wooden registrations, with
only one transmitter, could also be on 9500 or 9650 kHz at this hour.

Not to mention 15140 kHz, left on the air far beyond 2200 UT as sometimes
happens. Could be a convergence of luck: solar flux unexpectedly bumped up
to a hefty 90 yesterday, and axually transmitting on this frequency!
But not much else trans-Atlantically on 25mb.

Ausweitung des Handyverbots im Kfz  {in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland}
