Well there's the thing, week fairly dead - weekend like Mardi Gras, lots of colour and exotic stuff about.
5X8C (Uganda) took the top hat during the week being beaten by 9U4U (Burundi) on Saturday and Sunday. 6V7S (Senegal) was up there as well. And once again we have lots of reports from Malasia.
Zaifful, 9W2MZY, reports for the first time, I think.
He worked DU2BOQ 5/9, DU2XXA 5/9 and 9U4U 5/9. “Nothing heard to much, noise everywhere and due to bad weather in this week on late evening” Still send in the reports they are always useful.
Abdul 9W2JDD , sent in his first report. Monday he worked 9U4U 5/9. Thanks for that, even shorts reports are interesting. In fact even negative ones.
9W2VVH, Arie's report from last week got missed out somehow. Apologies here it us now.
”Feb 9-10, 2013 - I managed to join my 1st digital mode contest in CQWPX RTTY 2013 contest as SOSB 10M low power category. Wkd 66 QSOs & 47 different prefixes world wide!”

And for this week,
“Participated in RU WW PSK Contest. 34 QSOs and 24 Mult. Feb 17, 2013 - WKD UR3CTB, UN8FE, UZ7HO, UR0EG, 4K6OF - NEW DXCC, R7AZ & UA6WCF. All in PSK31 @ 28.120MHz. Lastly on Feb 18, 2013 - Wkd 9U4U Burundi 28492 SSB- my new DXCC #139. That's all for now. 73 Terima kasih - Jumpa lagi de Arie 9W2VVH”

I learn a little bit more Malaysian every week!
Andy, M0HLT, worked KF4ZZY 4/6, ZD7VC (Bruce St Helena Island) 5/3, W2REA 5/7, N9NUQ 5/6, and finally N8II 5/7. “Hi all, I guess you're now the other side of the world, from a UK prospective, and had a safe journey. Well QSO of note this week was working Bruce on St Helena island in the middle of the south Atlantic over 4500 miles away , a new one for me on 10m's . I'm also pleased to report that every QSO was a "proper" conversation , not 5/9 thanks. Also not long after getting home at 6pm this evening (Tuesday) the band was still open to the East coast of the USA until 7pm'ish. 73 all”
and to you also Andy.
Paul, PE7B , had a good Sunday. HE worked N1WRK 5/6, KY4BP 5/3 and N2AF 5/7. He heard WO4DX 5/9, WY2O 5/4, K5EK 5/9, CU6GT 5/2, K3SAE 5/3, WB2REM 5/8, W9NY 5/9, KA1RB 5/3, K2CSX 5/2, WX2F 5/9, N2YIE 5/6, KB8UJY 5/9, EC8AQQ 5/8, N0TW 5/7, N8RYE 5/9, N9QZH 5/3, VE3LOE 5/6, W2REA 5/4, VA3AQB 5/9 and KG2GX 5/4.
He says, “On Sunday 17 February I made a DX-pedition to the Zeeland coast (Westkapelle, jo11rm) to try out my newly constructed end-fed half-wave antenna on the seashore. Very pleasing results with the antenna in "beachcasting mode" (i.e. down on the shoreline and at almost zero elevation). With just 20W pep of output power my best DX was KY4BP in Kentucky (6614km). Here's a link to a short YouTube video which shows some QSO fragments as well as (at the end) some technical information about the design of the EFHW antenna and an LC impedance matching unit.”

Steve, M0BPQ was active on Sunday,
“In the ARRL CW contest I worked 22 stations in 14 states during 21 minutes. Mainly on the east coast - 1,2,3,4,8,9 call areas. I didn't have much time on the band before it closed, but some very strong signals from the big boys. CW skimmer +SDRIQ really helped find new ones.”
