TONY'S 10 METRE BAND REPORT - 05/12/2013

Ten has not been in such
good shape this week for us
in the UK, well me anyway.
Having said that, the rest of the world seems to be working fine on Ten, so much so, the bar was raised to 4 contacts during the week and 6 at the weekend.
Most popular DX was XZ1J (Myanmar), VU7AG (Lakshadweep Is) J88HL (St Vincent) and T32TM (East Kiribati).
Paul, VK5PAS, is back. Tuesday he worked 5B4AIF/p 5/4 and IK4JPK 5/9 with 5B4AIF portable in a WWFF area. Sunday 4L8A 5/8, PD1DX 5/9 and OP2A 5/9. Saturday was his golden day. A47RS 5/9, ES5QD 5/9, VR2XMT 5/8, CT1JOP 5/8, 5B4AIX 5/7, G3UEG 5/5, I2ADN 5/9, G8CLY 5/7, OH2BR 5/9, G4NRE 5/9, G3WMV 5/9, G4JCZ 5/9, DK2TX 5/9, IZ2ZEX 5/9, GI4SNA 5/9, MW0PPM 5/9, PH1DX 5/6, OP7M 5/8, G0DML 5/8, ON4BHZ 5/5, G4VMX 5/6, PE1KKV 5/5, PD1ATH 5/7, G4RUW 5/7, M6LKW 5/6, G4EHD 5/8, GM0IQI 5/7, GB2IWM 5/5, G0RBD 5/9, G0TSM 5/9, F4EZJ 5/9 , 6O0LA 5/8.
“What a great night. Started off with a new country on 10m, Somalia. And then after a lengthy chat with a mate in England (who kindly gave me his freq), a pile up ensued from Europe & UK. Great conditions”

Good stuff, pity I missed the opening to VK.

Mal, WA0SMX dropped in a short report saying he worked CT9/DK7YY last Wednesday.
Come on Mal, try for more.

I got a note from Frank, F0DUW, with a link about a 10m SWL contest.SWL contest

Sun: The sun's southern hemisphere is peppered with sunspots, but none of them is actively flaring. Solar activity remains low. NOAA forecasters estimate a 25% chance of M-class solar flares and a scant 1% chance of X-flares.
Earth is entering a stream of debris from rock comet 3200 Phaethon, source of the annual Geminid meteor shower. Our planet is just dipping into the outskirts of the debris zone now, so visual meteor rates are low. (spaceweather.com)

Stoke City without two star players lost 4 – 0 away at Everton. This weekend Chelsea at the Brit, not much hope with that one but I’ll be there
