ANTARCTIC ARGENTINE LRA36 - Hat jemand e-Mail Erfahrungen mit LRA 36 ?
(Michael Lindner)

Habe im letzten Jahr an
<lra36 -at- infovia.com.ar>
und
<esperanzaantar -at- infovia.com.ar>
gemailt. Beide Mails kamen an. Eine Antwort steht bis heute aus.
<lra36esperanza -at- yahoo.com.ar> schon probiert?

ARGENTINA Strong Argentine station. Quite surprised at the strength of
RAE Argentina in Spanish on 15345.3 kHz at 2315 UT ... with peaks past the
S9 level on my Icom receiver here in Montreal ... Signals seems to be
quite good to the south tonight ... heard many stations from Brazil also
in 31 meter band .
(Gilles Letourneau-CAN, dxld Sept 16)

15345.109 kHz measured rather tiny signal, hopped 2-3 Hertz around,
RAE Japanese program at 1140 UT morning Sept 17.

BELARUS 11730 Minsk-Kalodzicy Belarus radio, scheduled 11-23 UT, but in
Bjelorussian language at 11-14 UT S=9+40dB or -34dBm.

Logged with two very strong distorted spurious signals of S=9+5dB on
11698 - 11713 kHz and
11749 - 11762 kHz, latter even covered the 11760 RHC La Habana
transmission.

GERMANY 575/576/1106/1142 Der grosse Sendermast in Muehlacker wird wohl
nach der Gartenschau 9. Mai - 13. Sept 2015 weichen.

Wer weiss Naeheres?
(Andreas Tschauder-D, A-DX Sept 19)

<http://www.balkanfm.net/musik_programm.html>

herausbekommen....
(Roger Thauer-D, A-DX Sept 20)

Re: [A-DX] Balkan FM
re Deine Frage ...

Valzeina-Mittagplatte vs. DRS1 Steg-Waldsberg).
(Christian Bruelhart-SUI, on tour to Weinheim UKW-Tagung
convention, A-DX Sept 17)

1300* UT, Sept 16. Thanks to the timely tip from Dave Valko and Ralph

Myanmar with decent signal all by itself; went to USB to see if that was
better, but surprised to hear StarStar Br St (presumed) reading numbers in
Chinese, under- neath Myanmar. StarStar went off close to 1220 UT. Thazin
Radio normally goes off right at 1330 UT, but not so today. Off close to
1300 UT. I tuned away briefly to check on 7502-AM StarStar Br St signing
on at 1300 UT (yes, they did) and when I tuned back to 7345 kHz,
at 1301 UT, found Myanmar off. All very interesting! Amazing what can be
heard without the CNR1 powerhouse here!

NETHERLANDS Radio 5 will leave the MW band in one year from now,
on Sept 15, 2015. The antenna masts are obsolete and need to be replaced,

sale.

Re: Reprieve for REE Madrid Spain on SW-shortwave ?

Then Jose Bueno forwarded a new program grid effective 1 Oct 2014. It's
color-coded without explanation; mostly in white, but a lot of blox in
blue, green or red. Blue appears to mean straight relay of Radio Nacional
- i.e. program 1. Green and red presumably refer to some other domestic
networks. But what about a couple of program titles in the white blox
which are printed in red instead of black?

NOTE: this schedule does NOT say it is for shortwave!

I think people inside and outside REE may be victims of wishful thinking
about SW being prolonged after Sept 30. The only program with "Onda Corta"
in its title, Antonio Buitrago's, is being renamed to remove that: "Amigos
de Radio Exterior". (Unfortunately, this is overdue, since for a long time
the show has had very little to do with SW, but instead a well-done
general media magazine. Even the "noticias DX" segment was not really
about DXing, i.e. picking up stations with times and frequencies!)

It looks as if REE *web* programming will be squished into one 24-hour
service, no longer any alternatives for different targets or languages.
The foreign languages are all crammed into the overnight hours in Spain,
12-5 am Tue-Sat 22-03 UT (still during DST in October).

There is no need to take SW propagation factors into account either, since
there won't be any. Scheduling is OK for the Americas in English, French
and Portuguese, but not so handy for Russia and most of the Arab world,
after midnite there!

Not so OK is the reduxion of English and others to only half an hour each,
and no longer any on weekends, but with two airings, starting on UT M-F,
presumably the second being repeats on UT Tue-Sat:

UTC: Mo-Fri Tue-Sat
Arabic: 2200 & 0030
English: 2230 & 0100
French: 2300 & 0130
Russian: 2330 & 0200
Portuguese: 0000 & 0230

There are still regional magazines in Spanish, but they too are one-after-
another without any consideration of local time, Mon-Fri: 1530 America
Hoy, 1600 Africa Hoy, 1630 Asia Hoy.

At least some familiar titles in Spanish remain somewhere on the schedule,
altho critics have complained that shows have been dumbed-down, no longer
what they once were. Desde el Infierno, Heliotropo, Mundo Solidario,
Espanoles en el Exterior, Espanoles el la Mar, Planeta Vivo, Travesias,
etc.

Also still there is "Vida Verde", Thur 03-04 UT, which we know is really
in Catalan. The only other minority language mentioned is Sefardi, in the
same block Mon-Fri 0515-0600 UT as "El Sonido y la Furia/La Linterna
Magica', so does that mean those shows will be entirely Ladino, or parts
of them, or Sefardi distinct from them with the content inside this block
not specified?
(Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, dxld Sept 19)

Juan Franco Crespo forwards a note from CE3BBC in Chile, that according to
the upcoming Sept 21 edition of REE's Amigos de la Onda Corta, podcast of
which is already available, they will be staying on SW a while longer.

I listened to the first few minutes in which Antonio Buitrago talks
vaguely about this without mentioning any specific dates. He does say a
new schedule [for B-14?] shows his program reduced to only one broadcast,
UT Sundays at 0005-0100, so from that he apparently concludes that SW will
be continuing, altho abolishing HF at some point is still a definite
management decision.

Did anyone hear the English mailbag UT Friday Sept 19? Podcast for the 18
Sept broadcast is not yet up.

Glenn, I think you are right. Everything I've heard on REE English points
to a continued presence on the Internet and Satellite, but all shortwave
will be gone.

I could possibly see SW being extended to the end of A-14 but not beyond.
Perhaps tonight's Listener's Club program will have more info.

UNIDENTIFIED station on 17660 kHz since 0720 UT on Sept 19.
I picked up a non stop Guitar music on 17660 kHz with no ID since 0720 UT
UTC. Any ideas what is that station? Some kind of a test?
(Tarek Zeidan-EGY, dxld Sept 19)

Yes, heard also here in Germany. Powerhouse S=9+40dB or -36dBm very strong
signal, at 0845 UT.  {? 0720-0920 UT mean IRIB Tehran test? wb.}
(wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Sept 19)

17660 Huge signal here in Ireland as well. With instrumental music 0855
UT.
(Brock Whaley-IRL, dxld Sept 19)

Heard here in Indonesia too and ended at 0920 UT.
(Tony Ashar-INS, dxld Sept 19)

VIETNAM [and non] 9635.93 kHz, on Sept 17 at 1256 UT, big het between
open carrier on 9635.0 kHz and something on the hi side with unreadable
modulation, matcing very close to Ab5 pitch on my keyboard, i.e. 932 Hz.

9635.0 soon turns out to be CRI, opening in Hindi at 1300 UT, "Yi, China
Radio International", via Kashgar, EAST TURKISTAN, very likely to be on-
frequency. And the off-frequency one is V. of Vietnam, as often reported,
e.g. 9635.8 by Carlos Goncalves, Portugal, Sept 14 at 0859-1135 UT
fadeout.

Commies vs Commies! As in Aoki, it's the Son Tay site, 100 kW, 145 degrees
all-day and evening with home service first program. Neither Aoki nor WRTH
bothers to note it's always way off-frequency like some other transmitters
at this site near Hanoi ... their most distinctive signatures! EiBi does:
9635.7 kHz.
(Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, dxld Sept 17)

VIETNAM 9635.938 Very odd frequency Voice of Vietnam 1st Vietnamese
program, from Son Tay site, S=9+5dB -70dBm, heard at 11-12 UT on Sept 18
check of 31 mb, downunder on net SDR unit at Sydney-AUS.
