22/05/2015: The "Wild Mountain DX Group" OE5XWM/P proudly announces their 1st activation which takes places on 22-24 May, 2015. The team will be active from 80-10 metres, with some "power" at 1600 mtrs.asl from the Austrian Alps. Various antennas will be used. Operators include Alex OE1DXU (SSB), David OE5DFL (technical support), Erich OE5EVM (CW), Edwin OE5POP (SSB) and Peter OE5PSO (SSB, PSK31). 22/05/2015: The Florida Chapter of the North American QRP CW Club (NAQCC) will be holding its monthly Field Event on Friday, 22nd May, 2015 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon (or whenever hunger wins out over propagation, or we just can't stand looking at each other anymore!). QTH will be the Reed Canal Park, South Daytona, Florida. Listen for them near 7.041, 10.116, 14.061 and 18.080 - Steve, WB4OMM or Darryl, AB8GU will post to www.qrpspots.com via the Internet. He will operate using the callsign IL7/IZ7EVZ from 40-6m SSB using FT-897D, Power 1 KW, with home made dipole and vertical. 28/05/2015: John, K9EL will be active again as FS/K9EL from Orient Bay, island of French Saint Martin (NA-105, DIFO FS-001, WLOTA 0383, WW Loc. FK88LC) between 28th May and 16th June, 2015. QRV on the HF bands, plus 6 metres. The FS/K9EL station includes an IC7000 with a 500 watt amplifier. 30/05/2015: Look for Mike, VE9AA to be active as a Single-Op/All-Band entry in the CQWW DX CW Contest (30-31 May), using the callsign VO1TTT from Newfoundland (NA-027, CIsA NF-001, WLOTA 0345), Canada (CQ Zone 5). He plans to be QRV 160-6m. Very limited 6m operation from GN37 before the contest, however he is driving through many VE9, VE1 and VO1 grids on
25/26 May and

01/06/2015: In a few weeks Eric, LA2US will be off to the Arctic again, this time to Hopen Island (IOTA EU-063), one of Svalbard's Coastal Island. ETA Hopen Island first week of June for a 6 months stay. He will be operational as JW2US on CW on/around IOTA frequencies or at the lower band edges. This will be a spare time operation. He´s working very odd hours so please do not ask for sked. If you live on/operate from an Island (IOTA) or you're on an Expedition of some kind, your QSL card will be highly appreciated. His award hunt is via LoTW and eQSL, and your upload will be greatly appreciated. The recommended way to request a JW2US QSL card (Bear Island or Hopen Island) is via OQRS Club Log, both direct and bureau. [DX-World]

01/06/2015: Rob, VK4AAC will be active once again as VK4AAC/5 from Kangaroo Island (OC-139, WLOTA 0869), South Australia, between 1st of June and 25th of August 2015. SPECIAL EVENTS -

24/05/2015: CRD (Club Radio Durnal) crew members of the UBA will be active as TM08CRD from Fort of La Ferte (department 08 / Ardennes) on Sunday 24th May to commemorate the fall of this fort during WW2. After a sustained attack during the Battle of France the position was overwhelmed by German forces and was destroyed with its entire garrison killed. The fighting at La Ferte was the heaviest of any position in the Maginot Line. It is preserved as a war memorial. Crew members will be active on SSB and, CW. QSL via the bureau or ON4CRD. CQ WW CONTEST COMMITTEE - PROPOSED RULES CHANGES - The CQ WW Contest Committee is pleased to provide a preview of the rules for the 2015 CQ WW DX Contest SSB/CW. This is a public review period to invite any comments before the final rules are announced on June 1, 2015. Proposed changes: a.. Minor edits to Overlay Category definition. b.. Extended club circle from 175 miles to 200 miles for USA clubs, and from 275 km to 300 km for DX clubs. c.. Changed definition of QSO Alerting Assistance. Now if the technology only provides callsign or multiplier information it is considered assistance. d.. Remote stations must use a callsign permitted by the authorities at the station location. e.. Top scorers are required to submit logs with accurate frequencies. f.. The Observer Program adds the ability for the Committee to request audio recordings of an operation. CE, CHILE - Michael, DL7ARH is retired and lives together with his wife in a little village in Chile, about 50 km east of Valparaiso. His callsign there is CE2/DL7ARH. Michael has a TS590 transceiver and a 3 band dipole (20-15-10) as well as a FD 3 Windom (40 to 10). He almost only operates CW and likes DXing. SCARBOROUGH REEF 2016 - According to well placed sources at the Dayton Hamvention, three Chinese operators plan to activate Scarborough Reef (BS7) next year. While we have no more info at the moment, updates to follow once we get full details. Stay tuned.. [DX-World]

T30XG, T32XG and T33XG - W.Kiribati, E.Kiribati and Banaba -POSTPONED TO 2016- Haru JA1XGI informs he plans to visit and be active from West Kiribati, East Kiribati and Banaba as T30XG, T32XG and T33XG at the end of November into December 2015. [DX-World]

ZD9A For those needing AF-030, ZD9A shows up on the African DX Net: 14260 +/-. He was there today with a very good signal. ~ 1500z. Net run by V51MA who was 57 LP out here in CA. Very nice guys willing to help with check-ins. ZD9A said he is now trying to be more active. [K3EST]
