AFRICA WEST - HAUSA monitoring
Results of a monitoring project on international broadcasts in Hausa,
(not including Voice of Nigeria).

The project started from using data of the HFCC and ADDX and was conducted
during the second half of July using the twente web receiver.

* Some frequencies could not be verified, because of lacking propagation,
interference, weekly broadcast or use of another frequency.

The Mali relay of China Radio International could not be observed in
Hausa.

All other frequencies were observed, some with remarkable strength. So the
following schedule documents the on air situation at the end of July 2015.

It might be noted that some broadcasters like AWR and Deutsche Welle stick
to their frequencies during different broadcasts. It must also be noted,
that some schedules given on the websites of the respective stations were
incorrect.

ALGERIA 1422 kHz, mediumwave Algiers Ouled Fayet missed since July 23.

Re 1422 kHz Algiers Ouled Fayet switch-off. --- Danke fuer den Hinweis.

Maybe they let the Transradio Berlin and Ampegon Schifferstadt antenna
establishment firm workers to finish work on both Bechar Knadsa and
Algiers Ouled Fayet construction sites ... ?

Bechar Knadsa 576 kHz.

vom gleichen Standort ?

BHUTAN BBS on 6034.96 kHz continued to broadcast after the 1500 UT in
Dzongha. Telephone talk back show by Male MC. 24hrs ?
(Sei-ichi Hasegawa-JPN, dxld July 22)

Very nice to find we were both listening to BBS/Bhutan on 6034.96 kHz
today (July 22). I had not heard them recently and believed they were off
the air, so was a surprise to first tune in 1248-1300 UT to hear their
unique indigenous music/singing; 1331-1347 UT monologue; 1347-1401 UT more
indigenous music/ singing; by 1422 UT heard phone conversations; still on
the air when tuned out at 1430 UT.

Some mixing with PBS Yunnan (China), in Vietnamese and Chinese, but most
of the time BBS was stronger. The last I knew BBS signed off about 1300 UT
July 22, so they really were on an extended schedule today. Would be
wonderful if this was a new schedule for them?

July 23, *no BBS* at 1242 UT and subsequent checking till 1350 UT; PBS
Yunnan (China) doing fairly well on 6035 kHz, in Vietnamese till 1300 UT,
when they switched to Chinese; unable to confirm if they still have
English ID at ToH, due to various amounts of adjacent QRM.

GERMANY Am 18. Juli 2015 wurde der ehemalige RIAS-Sendemast in Berlin-
Britz gesprengt.

September

USA FCC branch bureaus to CLOSE DOWN.

Of these, the following Cities affected: Anchorage, Buffalo, Detroit,
Houston, Kansas City, Norfolk, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Juan, Seattle
and Tampa.

However, this is just the tip of Iceberg, as you originally intended,
almost all 'To Close' branch field offices. The FCC Chair man grabbed
together: "It's a tough decision, Congress has the austerity arranged. We
were told that the Authority has to make do with less financial resources.
" In reports Don Wilbanks, AE5DW, in Amateur Radio Newsline. (July 28)

USA AWR-Cuba via WRMI. From the August 2nd edition of Wavescan:

"Adventist World Radio has just begun a new service to Cuba, which is also
audible throughout much of Latin America and the Caribbean. The new 30-
minute program, which began August 1st, is broadcast twice daily at 1100
and 2300 UT on the frequency of 5950 kHz via the transmitter site of WRMI
in Okeechobee, Florida.

And particularly interesting is the fact that the program originates at
AWR studios in Cuba with all locally-produced content, such as a segment
called "Somos Cuba" or "We are Cuba." Much of the AWR-Cuba programming is
intended for young people, but there are features for a wide variety of
listener interests. Again, the new service can be heard daily at 1100 and
2300 UT on 5950 kHz."

Really weird programme Infowars noted on WWCR Nashville. On 25 July, the
host and his friends jumped between different conspiracy theories which
seemed to be closely interrelated and highly plausible to them: Globalist
conspiracy to disarm US citizens, Pentagon under the control of the
"Pentagram", US-president Obama as a puppet of dark forces in their fight
against white patriots. Alex Jones' Infowars

are broadcast mo-fr 0200 UT, tue-sat 0600 UT on 4840 kHz WWCR-3.
