ALGERIA for the first I heard RTA program in Arabic again on 153 kHz, tiny
signal strength, but heard in the clear in 0252 to 0256 UT time slot, when
RadioCom Romania Brasov - Kronstadt Bod co-channel was silent with program
break, before interval signal started from Bucharest radiohouse
at 0256 UT, Nov 30.

But maybe at present on Lanzarote island journey Manuel Mendez-Lugo-ESP
can hear that reduced power broadcast regularly in Lanzarote area ?

ANGOLA   4949.73  R. Nacional de Angola, Nov 21. Amazing reception;
segments monitored: 0208-0315, 0333-0402 and 0439-0503 UT; often with
almost fair reception; many clear IDs: "Radio Nacional de Angola"; variety
of music (one song with many mentions of "Africa," hi-life, etc.); ToH
time pips. A very memorable reception for me! Extremely rare that I get
audio above threshold level from them and to hear their clear IDs was a
real DXing treat!

ARGENTINA LRA28 Radio Nacional La Rioja
<http://www.nacionallarioja.com.ar/> back on MW 620 kHz 25 kW.

ARMENIA/BULGARIA/FRANCE/MOLDOVA [to KURDISTAN]

lautet:

04.00-08.00: 9400 (Grigoriopol-MDA 300 kW, 130 deg)
08.00-12.00: 9400 (Erevan-Gavar-ARM 300 kW, 192 deg)
12.00-22.00: 9400 (Grigoriopol-MDA 300 kW, 130 deg, 14.00 116 deg)

Tatsaechlich sehen manche Experten die Belegung anders. Ivo Ivanov bietet
Anfang und Ende November folgende Sendeplan Details

15.00-17.00: 9400 (Sofia Kostinbrod-BUL 100 kW, 90 deg) da im Nahbereich
2x harmonische Frequenz = 18800 kHz zu empfangen war.

17.00-20.00: 9400 (TDF Issoudun-F 250 kW, 90 deg) da am 4. November
Intermodulationsprodukte aus Issoudun ausgestrahlter Programme beobachtet
wurden.

20.00-22.00: 9400 (Grigoriopol-MDA 300 kW, 116 deg)

ASCENSION ISL [to NIGERIA] 12050, Nov 24 at 2007 UT, WEWN still missing,
but algo talk is JBA here, not // 13830 kHz WEWN, and nothing at all on
11830 kHz, while 11825 kHz WRMIBS is not a problem.

Therefore, I suspect that Dandal Kura is back on 12050 kHz at 18-21 UT via
ASCENSION after having been on 11830 kHz since July 1 in A-15 season.

Registered in B-15 for 12050 kHz. Of course, if & when WEWN come back
during same span and more, DK might be driven off 12050 kHz again.
Meanwhile, Dandal Kura is easy any night at 05-07 UT on 7415 kHz
Ascension. It's the US-backed counterweight to Boko Haram.
(Ron Howard-CA-USA, dxld Nov 25)

This morning 7415 kHz signal from ASC was on S=9+15dB level here in
southern Germany. Phone-in program at 0640 UT on Dec 5.

And 15480 kHz 250 kW 165deg at 07-08 UT via Woofferton too?
Heard a pour skip zone signal mentioned Boko Haram at 0700 to fade-out
0715 UT, but co-channel the powerful TRT Emirler program of S=9+20dB in
Moscow, up to S=9+30 in HUngary, like in southern Germany, Switzerland and
Greece too.
(wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Dec 5)

The station currently operates for six hours ? from 6am to 8am on 7415KHz
in the 41 metre band; 8am to 9am on 15480 KHz in the 19metre band;
and 7 to 10pm on 11830 KHz in the 25 metre band.

Canadian broadcaster sets up radio to fight Boko Haram insurgency -
Premium Times Nigeria. Dandal Kura Radio targets Kanuris across Africa.

BRAZIL 9724.92* on Dec 2 at 0131 UT, Brazuguese talk into choral music,
very poor S5, so Radio RB2 has bumped its transmitter back up close to
nominal frequency 9725.000 kHz, after drifting steadily downward for
weeks; yesterday at same time I had it on 9722.62, and two nights earlier
on 9722.72 kHz, so the rate of deceleration was .05 kHz per 24 hours.
Shux, no point now in extrapolating when it would get to 9720.00 kHz. But
will it resume drifting downward? Possibly not: Dec 2 at 0726 UT recheck,
it's still on 9724.92 UT with a Brazuguese song/hymn.

annoying.

"at 0532 UT Hungarian Gypsy violin Czardas music played," which I also
heard and at which time they gave a "Radio Nacional" ID; started out weak,

Radio Luxemburg dagegenhielt.

Sonntagsmagazin mezz'ora italiana (*21. Oktober 1961).

Seit dem 28. Sept gibt es auch 11.55 Uhr Ortszeit Radio Refugee in
Arabisch und Englisch.

Eine ausfuehrliche Bilderstrecke von einer Besichtigung der
Mittelwellenanlage (3. Juli) findet sich bei

(Prof. Dr. Hansjoerg Biener-D, ntt via wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Nov 30)

I love these sentences: "At the above date and hour the official ERT was
not transmitting in SW. Although the mentioned transmission was from ERT's
SW transmission site in AVLIDA (Athens region), the operation of the site
was by ERT ex-employees." :) (Philip Hiscock, Nfld-CAN, dxld Nov 25)

Yeah, That was a good'un, huh, along with "ditto" (Paul Walker, ibid

Dr. Gazidellis must be one of the new employees at ERT considering his
statement that Voice of Greece never had QSL cards. VOG was one of the
best verifiers in the past sending out very nice QSL cards. I have many of
those cards in my QSL collection.
(Christos Rigas-IL-USA, ibid.)

What is the email to send reception reports? Can you please give the e
mail ID of Voice of Greece? Congratulations for the QSL.

Christoforos Liatos reported that 1008 kHz Krka - Corfu has been

'lokalen' remote SDR unit in Zakynthos island.

AIR Goa Panaji - 1297 kHz - 100 kW ? is broadcasting on both analogue and
DRM mode in nearby frequencies: analogue frequency: 1287 kHz whereas the
simulcast DRM Frequency was 1297 kHz.

AIR Mumbai is testing in DRM mode on 1044 kHz and the Asmita channel is
available as simulcast on DRM mode at 568 kHz (558 kHz, analogue).

AIR Jabalpur is also commencing DRM tests next month while AIR Bengaluru
DRM [short wave] transmission was clearly heard in Russia.

Radio Kashmir in AIR Jammu earlier this month started simulcast
transmission of its primary service programmes with AM on 990 kHz & DRM on
1000 kHz. AIR Jammu commenced with a discussion on what DRM means to a
radio listener, in which DDG (Engineering) Radio Kashmir, Jammu K.K.Singh
along with Shailesh Raina explained DRM.

Amazon India has for the first time commenced sale of DRM sets on its
Mobile App. The set is made in India by Communications System Inc (Avion)
which is the first company in India to manufacture a DRM receiver, one of
the world's largest radio digitisation rolls out countrywide.

The DRM digital radio receiver AV-DR-1401 is now available on Amazon
India. The receiver offers the full set of features including:

DRM/AM/FM Stereo Reception; MW/SW/FM Bands; DRM Journaline Data; DRM
Scrolling Text; DRM Program Recording; Auto Scan and Manual Tuning; DRM
Emergency Warning; Unicode Character Support; 100 Station Memory;
Music/Photos playback from Micro SD Card; Multiple Language Support;
Realtime Clock; MOT Slideshow; Service Mode; DRM AFS and Battery
Indicator.

INDONESIA 4749.945 approx., Nov 26 at 1334 UT, Indonesian music, poor,
announcement including bits of singing in the studio. So RRI Makassar-INS
is back; Ron Howard had found it missing a couple of days recently.
wb measured it on 4749.943 kHz, and I won't quibble with that.

Alone now, but at 1258 UT there was a LAH from one or two other stations
closer to 4750.0 kHz Bangladesh, China.

3905.0 on Nov 26 at 1342 UT, JBA S4 signal with song, presumably RRI
Merauke, recently put on 3904.981 kHz by Wolfy and Ron, but I don't get it
measured any more precisely. At least not much QRhAM at the moment. Much
weaker than the JOZs on 3925, 3945 kHz.
(Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, dxld Nov 26)

Nov 26, RRI Makassar-INS, at 1219 UT, ending the Jakarta news with
patriotic song "Bagimu Negeri"; // RRI Merauke-INS.

Nov 25, noted RRI Merauke going off at 1502* UT, after playing "Pulau
Ambon" (Island of Ambon)/Love Ambon; almost fair reception.
(Ron Howard-CA-USA, dxld Nov 26)

3324.89 RRI Palangkaraya, at 1432 UT on Nov 18. Went off the air between
hearing an open carrier with some audio at 1432 UT and gone by 1443 UT.
Noted this due to an inquire to me from Victor Goonetilleke about their
sign off time, as he recently had noticed they were off the air earlier
than normal. On Nov 19 heard 1450 UT to past 1525 UT. So just a very
erratic sign off time?
(Ron Howard-CA-USA, dswci DXW Nov 25)

3904.98 Pro 1 RRI Merauke. They continue to air their multiple newscasts
at 1200, 1300 and 1400; at 1258 UT, Nov 11, 13, 14, 18 and 19, with RRI
jingle, usual pre-news theme music, 1301 UT pips (full minute late), news
(local?), commentary(?) and economic news(?), ending at 1323 UT with usual
patriotic song "Bagimu Negeri", followed by "Pro Satu RRI Merauke" ID; HAM
QRM; poor.

Later at 1403 UT, news (headlines?) ending at 1406 UT with the normally
played patriotic song "Bagimu Negeri", followed by RRI jingle and another
"Pro Satu RRI Merauke" ID, at 1459-1501* UT RRI jingle, local ID and usual
theme music "Love Ambon", which is also called "Pulau Ambon" (Island of
Ambon) / "Love Ambon", composed by George de Fretes, almost fair, as my
local sunrise was coming up at 1445 UT.

4749.94 Pro 4 RRI Makassar, at 1317 UT on Nov 09-11 and 14, mostly phone
conversations, still hearing only RRI and CNR1, with no hint of Bangladesh
Betar.

4869.91 RRI Wamena, at 1303 UT on Nov 14, music program; the best heard
in a while.

3324.891 kHz (Wolfy's recent measurement), RRI Palangkaraya, on Nov 19.
Different sign off time today (yesterday off between 1432-1443 UT); noted
today 1450 to past 1525 UT. So just a very erratic sign off time?

3904.981 kHz (Wolfy's recent measurement), Pro 1 RRI Merauke, at 1503* UT
on Nov 19, after playing "Pulau Ambon" (Island of Ambon)/"Love Ambon,"
just like yesterday. This was doing very nicely, as my local sunrise was
at 1449 UT.

4749.943 (Wolfy's recent measurement), Pro 4 RRI Makassar. Nov 19 was a
rare day indeed, as I was unable to hear any trace of them; 1347-1525 UT
only heard CNR1 ( // 6125 kHz). Seemed RRI was off the air here today?
(Ron Howard-CA-USA, DXplorer via wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Nov 19)

4749.947 kHz exact fingerprint, program from RRI Makassar, Ujung Pandang,
noted S=9+10dB signal on Perseus unit in eastern Thailand

Co-channel but weaker S=7-8 of CNR1 Hailar on 4749.993 kHz. At 2140 UT Nov
21. (wb; now back in northern winter season again, remote SDR Perseus net

aktiv, seither haeufig gemeldet.

3904.98 RRI Merauke (Papua), nach mehrjaehriger Pause ab Mai wieder aktiv,
tageweise ausser Betrieb, dennoch sehr haeufig gemeldet.

4749.94 RRI Makassar (Sulawesi), nach Auszeit seit Mai 2014 ab September
wieder haeufig gemeldet.

4749.94 RRI Wamena (Papua), 2015 bislang in jedem Monat mehrfach gemeldet

IRAN 6135 kHz Harmonic Re: [A-DX] 2 x 6135 kHz = 12267 kHz French,
1820-1920 UT 500 kW 304 deg from Kamalabad site.
Discussion in A-DX newsgroup:

Schieleinrichtungen, 274 Grad Grund-Azimuth, +30 Grad Franz., bzw.
+15 Grad Italienisch.

Sender.
(wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Nov 19)

But for the harmonic to land on 12267, the fundamental would have to be
1.5 kHz off to low side. Is it?? (gh, dxld)

13735: This morning in 0515-0555 UT came across two broadband spurious
scratching sound signals in 22 mb. IRIB Kamalabad 500 kW 304 deg unit

former Yugoslavia audience. Produces also wideband spurious signals in

KOREAS target [veiled broadcast transmissions of target radio services]

anderer christlicher Anbieter. So senden auch FEBC, Trans World Radio,
Adventist World Radio und Bible Voice in Koreanisch.

Rolle spielten.

IDF SHUTS DOWN SECOND HEBRON RADIO STATION, CITING INCITEMENT
[see original for further embedded linx]

<http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4728779,00.html>

Al Khalil radio station raided overnight and shuttered for six months
after airing songs encouraging terror attacks against Israel; this is the
second Hebron-area station to be shut down in current wave of violence.

The IDF shut down a Palestinian radio station in Hebron on Friday night,
for the second time in the current wave of violence.

IDF troops raided Radio Al Khalil overnight and seized broadcasting
equipment, leaving behind a warrant signed by the GOC Central Command,
Roni Numa, which orders the shutdown of the station for six months.

The IDF said that the raid, done in cooperation with the Shin Bet and the
Israeli Civil Administration, was a result of incitement broadcasted on
the station, which is one of the most popular radio stations in the area.

According to the Civil Administration, Al Khalil Radio broadcasts
"inciting songs against Israel and encourages terror attacks and the
murder of Israeli citizens," noting these songs make up the lion's share
of the station's broadcasts.

In addition, the Civil Administration said the radio station "broadcasts
lies about the execution of Palestinians and the kidnapping of
Palestinians by Israeli security forces; congratulates the families of
'shahids' for the death of their children; praises terrorists who
committed stabbing and vehicular attacks; and calls for revenge attacks."
"Investigation of recent attacks found a connection between the incitement
that riles up the Palestinian public and terror attacks that have taken
place recently," the Civil Administration said.

Many of the recent terror attacks took place in the Hebron area, and the
terrorists who murdered five people in two separate terror attacks on
Thursday are also residents of the area.

The attacks in Tel Aviv and Gush Etzion on Thursday happened after several
days of relative silence in the Hebron area, during which the IDF decided
to remove the partial closure of the area.

So far, a decision has not been made on whether reinstate the partial
closure, but COGAT decided to freeze working permits in Israel for
thousands of Palestinians from the Hebron area, pending an examination of
the permits.

Three weeks ago, Israeli security forces raided the offices and studio of
Al Huriya Radio in Hebron, seizing technical equipment and transmitters.
Al Huriya Radio, another popular station in the area, was also shut down
for six month after broadcasting incitement against the State of Israel,
encouraging stabbing attacks and supporting violent rioting.

PALESTINE Third Palestinian radio station closed by the IOF Third
Palestinian radio station closed by the IOF.

<http://english.pnn.ps/2015/11/29/third-palestinian-radio-station-closed-by-the-iof/>

This Sunday morning, the Israeli occupation forces issued an order for the
closure of a Hebron radio station, the third Palestinian news outlet to be
shut by Israeli authorities this month in Hebron.

The director of of Dream Radio station, Talab Al-Jaabri, stated that the
Israeli occupation forces stormed the station, destroying equipment and
damaging offices.

Al-Jaabri said the IOF told him the radio station would be closed for six
months due to "incitement against Israel." Earlier this month, the Israeli
occupation army shut down Radio Hebron and Al-Hurriya, two other
Palestinian radio stations which have been accused of broadcasting anti-
Israel content.

SAUDI ARABIA 11860 Auf spezielle Zielgebiete gerichtete Sendungen Jemen

leiten.

Der aegyptische Kurzwellenexperte Tarek Zeidan transskibierte eine Ansage
(20 Oct, 20.00 Uhr) als

"Huna Sana'a idhaat aljumhuriya alyamaniya al bernamaj al a'am".

<http://www.sanaaradio.net/popup.aspx>

[* only S=7-8 signal in Doha Qatar remote SDR unit, similar S=8 signal
in southern Greece, wb. at 0738 UT on Dec 5]

(11,054 GHz h).

SAUDI ARABIA 13775.1, Nov 20 at 1420 UT, poor signal in SoAsian talk,

9870, Nov 21 at 2130 UT, tuning around the R-75 for something musical to
accompany my nap, here's some lively ME pop music to 2200 UT - they must
really be groovin' in The Kingdom after midnite. BSKSA is here at 18-23 UT
on 500 kW, 310 deg USward, but intended for just Western Europe; not
to be confused with AIR Vividh Bharati Indian pop music, occupying most of
the rest of the day on 9870 kHz.

15435.11, Nov 24 at 1512 UT, Arabic, so yet another BSKSA frequency which
is off to the hi side; do they have a bad frequency counter, or what?
Can't pick up WWV over there? 13710.075 kHz approx., ditto Nov 24 at 1523
UT, Arabic with VG signal but not // 15435.11 kHz, so one is HQS, the
other General program 1, respectively

9675.05, Nov 24 at 2015 UT, fair signal at S9 obviously with language
lesson, repeating same few words over and over; finally decide it's Arabic
for Turkish, and that fits as BSKSA Turkish scheduled at 18-21 UT, 500 kW,
340 deg from Riyadh, good for us too.

USA 9330 Nov 28 at 0115 UT, WBCQ is certainly on tonite and propagating
to the tune of S=9+25, but it's Blalock the Blaster, so quick tune to the

Later in the hour he's explaining to a caller the different color TV
systems, how the FCC first approved the CBS mechanical scan in the early

lasted until the DTV transition; also another way to fool the eye into
seeing some color on black and white TV. Around 0215 UT, 7490 kHz seems to
drop power and then go off; shortly later 5109.7 kHz too, back on at 0219
UT. Meanwhile I have been hearing terrible splash QRM from WRNO 7504.75

5085 kHz - more on the peculiar situation of WTWW-2 (not -3 as misnumbered

Original Message From: "Glenn Hauser via Hard-Core-DX".

21550 kHz Vatican Radio, Nov 26 at 1510 UT, 13m bandscan usually
unproductive finds a good S9 signal here, and in English! It's a speech
about the UN, climate change, refers to "your holiness", 1513 UT applause.
Anchor outros as executive director of the UN Environmental Development
Program. Evidently he was merely introducing Pope Francis, who is visiting
the UN office in Nairobi, Kenya, and soon starts to speak in Spanish ("an
official UN language" even tho rather off-topic here); voice-over
translation starts in English, but interrupted at 1517 UT (or maybe he
finished already).

Having concluded it's a Vatican Radio special, I quickly scan elsewhere on
21, 17 and 15 MHz bands but find nothing more. But at 1518 UT I turn up
the gain and volume and do find *much* weaker signals on neighboring 21560
kHz in Portuguese? And 21570 kHz in algo. 21550 kHz is still going with
English coverage at 1541 UT.

Only then do I fire up notify the dxld yg of this special event:
"Good signal on 21550 kHz at 1510 UT Nov 26, Vatican Radio in English
covering Pope's visit to Nairobi; later found much weaker signals in other
languages on 21560 kHz, 21570 kHz, but none on 17 or 15 MHz. Still going
at 1541 UT.

Full report to follow (Glenn Hauser, dxld)"

And check what else has been reported about this: "Stumbled on strong
signal on 21550 kHz at 1525 UT Thurday Nov 26 with apparent coverage of
Pope visit to Kenya in English. Woman revoicing distorted audio of another
woman speaker before a woman narrator discussing Pope's comments.

Note the 11725 kHz broadcasts will collide with New Zealand! also on there
until 0758 UT and normally quite good here. Christian Ghibaudo, France,
BDXC-UK, was hearing 11725{11724.984} kHz already today in French
at 0650 UT, no mention of RNZI.

These three 13m frequencies are registered by VR in HFCC for specials, but
only between 0800 and 1130 UT, all toward different parts of Africa via
SMG, but obviously extended a lot later. The much greater signal on 21550
kHz here might be explained as closest to directly off the back from
145 deg, which would be 325deg; but I do suspect this one might be
Madagascar instead, i.e. aiming across Africa USward.
