CHINA MW 1206 Jiangsu PBS Story Service Nanjing program observed in past
week every nighttime here in central Europe (Germany, Austria, Spain).

re China MW 1206 kHz.
PBS Story Service Nanjing identifizieren.

Hobbyfreunde.

according Alan Davies' database table on
<www.asiawaves.net> already since Nov 2011 at

32 02 22 N 118 43 40 E erected,

Alan's details on 10 kW low power are to be question-marked,
rather I guess power should be 50 or 100 kW power range at least, when
this service heard already in Germany during our winter propagation path.

Two MW locations at Nanjing built up speedy between 2011 and inauguration?
on 14 April 2013. Jiangsu PBS Finance Service refurbished close to
31 52 01.79 N 118 40 18.93 E

On the 3 years erection phase built up 7 high various MW/FM/TV masts on
these locations.

EQUATORIAL GUINEA 5004.99 on Feb 4 at 0520 UT, very poor signal
combating storm noise far from our area, with music, presumed R. Bata.
I'm checking during this hour encouraged by Ron Howard re-hearing it in
further California. By 0543 UT it's up to S7 with talk, can't tell if
Spanish; 0556 UT still JBA. Very slightly on the lo side.

till tuned out at 0621 UT with non-musical segment; 0601-0614 UT

GREECE Voice of Greece shortwave again 2 freqs in // Feb.7

from 1600 15650*AVL 100 kW 285 deg to WeEUR Greek tx#1 buzz audio

(Ivo Ivanov-BUL, hcdx via wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Febr 7)

GREECE 15650 on Feb 7 at 1512 UT, oh oh, that awful whining sound is
here, and with BFO, from multiple carriers slightly above and below
15650.0 kHz just like we have been getting from ERA's malfunxioning
transmitter on 9935 kHz or sometimes 9420 kHz. They didn't bother to
register anything with HFCC for B-15, but we know 15650 kHz is an old
Avlis frequency. Ivo Ivanov, Bulgaria, was also hearing this later:
"Voice of Greece on Febr 7 at 1600 UT on 15650 kHz BUZZ audio and
9420 kHz good audio 73!"

Currently, in fact, 15650 kHz is reserved ONLY for IRDR, 24 hours from SMG
Vatican site, 100 kW ND. That's the international emergency broadcasting
service envisaged, which so far has never been activated, despite numerous
qualifying events in the past two years and ongoing:

HFCC, Intl. Radio for Disaster Relief project.
B-15 schedule is here showing 17500 and 21840 kHz also available 24 hours:

<http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbyfmo.php?seas=B15&fmor=RDR>

and for lesser spans: 11995, 11840, 9430, 7400 kHz. AND, for ALL CIRAF
zones 1-85! I assume SMG is merely a placeholder and if ever really in
use, various more appropriate sites could be used, as several HFCC members
supposedly support this.
(Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, hcdx and dxld Febr 7)

GREECE 9420.004 and 15649.964 kHz. Both with live coverage of football
soccer match at 1751 UT on Febr 7 on Voice of Greece Avlis,

9420.004 kHz at S=9+45dB here in southern Germany, and

15649.964 kHz odd frequency with BUZZ whine signal, S=6-7, too high
meterband for short distance Greece to Germany.

And accompanied 16 x 141 Hertz distance away like garden fence peaks
visible of the annoying BUZZ audio , either sideband. Unstable signal of
the whine buzz, peaks hopp some 10 - 20 Hertz up and down.

God". Another station ID at 0959 UT followed by time pips at 1000 UT and

LUXEMBOURG MW 1439 / 1440 Luxemburger Tagblatt:
verschwunden-22197357>

Ein Stueck Radiogeschichte ist verschwunden.

1440 kHz Mittelwellen-ANTENNEN ABGEBAUT

verlor an Bedeutung.

Begriff in ganz Europa machte.

Auffangeinrichtung fuer 300 Fluechtlinge entstehen.

SAUDI ARABIA 11860 Sana'a strong echo, Times approximate. Radio Sana'a

At 1811 to 1830 UT rather low level signals heard on various remote units

Very ambiguous, as the signal power evaluation here in Europe.

At 11.50 UT on Febr 8th - tune-in -,
Radio Sana'a was on air 11860 kHz as usual.

Best signal in Doha Qatar S=9+5dB,
in Calabria Italy outstanding antenna installation? nice S=9 strength.
But not strong all over Europes remote net installations like in
Greece S=5, in peaks S=6,
same in Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium posts,

weak and tiny S=3-4 on Germany's North Sea coast and England.
nil in Sweden and Moscow.

I guess the Saudi Arabia - Radio Sana'a-excile-radio antenna
is of 8dB horizontal-log periodical type one,
never a Saudi curtain 500 kW beast strength of 19 to 21 dB gain.

11860 on Feb 8 at 1445 UT I start monitoring R. Sana'a continuously in
case some Call To Prayer should appear. First, heavy music and
exhortations, bit of a distressed child's voice; 1454 UT the vamping music
with "mission statement"; song past 1502 UT, finally talk at 1506 past
1508 UT, so it seems the CTP exercise in piety is a past-thing. I wonder
if the Sunni and Shia disagree too about the importance of broadcasting
them. By now the gaisma.com calculated sunsets have progressed to 1504 UT
in Sana'a and Aden; the change is slowing so that it will take another
month to laten by 6-8 minutes.

Radio Sana'a early morning on Feb 9. Not on-air at tune in, 0315 UT,
unable to find even a carrier. Suddenly came back on air at 0323 UT,
although very weak. Strengthened to fair but fadey over the next
15-20 seconds. At later check, 0413 UT, a nice strong signal;
possibly due to our sunrise at 0348 UT.

11860 on Febr 10 at 1417 UT, R. Sana'a with loud ME music at S=9+20;
at 1424 UT "Allahu Akhbar", and a brief speech with echo effect,
background music, mentions Adan; 1425 UT back to music, song.

11860 on Febr 11 at 1410 UT, R. Sana'a, very good S=9+20 in Arabic, mostly
talk instead of music today, M&M studio conversation past 1424 UT. From
*1430 UT lite QRM from IBB KUWAIT underneath, which has stuck to its
original frequency for Afghanistan despite this Yemeni business nearby.
By 1456 UT, now martial music, 1501 UT talk and still no call-to-prayer
in next few minutes.

Since I have such strong signals here in deep North America, Kai Ludwig
wonders if I have considered whether the site could really be on this side
of the pond? Not really. Hard to believe the ousted Yemeni president would
go this far away, whence the signal into Yemen would be quite weaker than
from e.g. neighboring Saudi Arabia.

But only two sites would be remotely conceivable Greenville and Cypress
Creek. It's even harder to imagine IBB itself serving as site under deep
cover (especially with the Kuwait clash). WRMI might have the capacity if
Brother Scare hadn't bought out 10 of the transmitters, and this signal is
stronger than WRMI itself on 11825 kHz, e.g. There is little else to
compare it with on 25m in the 1330-1530 UT period when Sana'a is strongest
here. Febr 11 at 1425 UT, I find Turkey [q.v.] only S5-S9 on 12035 kHz,
and it's overtly aimed at us!

WHRI might be possible, via one of its 500 kW transmitters, and no doubt
would be open to such covert business, as they have no problem with
overtly relaying Commies such as Voice of Vietnam; carry other
clandestines via Palau, and remember the one for Fiji from SC?

But if a US site, why would the 11860 kHz signal gradually fade down and
out after 1530 UT? (Unless: a site swap before another one circa 1753 UT).

I am more inclined to think the 11860 kHz I hear happens to be on a
favorable azimuth beyond Yemen from Saudi or some other neighboring
country, perhaps carrying on to here by long path across the Indian and
Pacific oceans (or very efficiently radiating off-the-back but Wolfy is
repeatedly reporting how poor the signal is in Europe which would be on
the back-way to North America).

USA 5950 QSL Adventist World Radio - Cuba. Rec'ed a reply within six
hours, after posting a second follow-up, to the Senora Dayami Rodriguez,
Director of Communications. She relied with a nice .pdf 'Certificado de
Sintonia' Certificate QSL. Also received several numerous photos of the
staff, studio in a spare e-mail message from Abigalin Moreno, the
Secretary at the Station.
This for my report dated back to September of 2015.

USA 7504.92 WRNO, at 0440 UT on Feb 11 (Thursday). Surprised to hear a
program in Chinese; brief program ID at 0450 UT in English ("Thank you for
joining us for 'Praise for Today'[?]. We look forward to sharing with you
*again next week*"); WRNO ID with contact info.

It will be recalled that back in dxld 10-24, I reported hearing Arabic via
WRNO, just before they signed off; so now before signing off they have
Chinese. Needs more monitoring to find out just what is going on here.
*Daily or weekly?*

VATICAN STATE 15620 Radio Veritas Asia via SMG Santa Maria di Galeria
towards NE/ME/Arabic peninsula, at 1514-1553* UT on Feb 1, man and woman
speaking before a "live" audience in English about their lives. At 1522 UT
into Tagalog talks some before an audience and some without an audience.
Lively programming but clearly with a religious touch. Program ended at
1545 UT followed by a man and a woman with updates about Pilipino overseas
workers. Fair to good signal.

Vatican Radio at 0040-0200 UT using a back up frequency to improve winter
reception 5940 kHz, The season started with 9560 and 7410 kHz,
but 9560 kHz is not too good at start up 0040 UT. New freq will stay
till the end of the B15 season in March. Excellent reception on 5940 kHz.

It is interesting to watch the three frequencies here in Sri Lanka. At
0040 UT 5940 kHz is the best with 7410 kHz good and 9560 kHz just barely
making it. By 0155 UT on 5940 kHz starting to get weak, while 7410 kHz is
all 555 and 9560 kHz better than 5940 kHz. For A-16 season 5940 kHz will
be dropped.
